The HPAI virus is still in our SC wild birds -- just assume it can be found throughout the state. Keep your guard up -- the virus is still out there.

Continue the great work of protecting your flock from Avian Flu by separating your flock from wild ducks and geese and their watery environments and following biosecurity practices. Keep your distance from dead vultures or other wild bird die-offs so you don't track the virus back to your birds. Keep SC flocks free of avian influenza.

SC shows, exhibitions, swaps can continue -- however, it is a recommendation that no waterfowl (pet ducks and geese) be allowed. This is because pet ducks and geese can get infected with the HPAI virus at home and show no signs -- then bring the
virus to the site.
