- Secure carriers with seat belts

- NEVER leave pets alone in vehicles (temperatures can rise to deadly levels)
- Practice short car trips with nervous pets to build their comfort level
- Keep leashes, harnesses and portable water bowls easily accessible!

- Create emergency kits with 3-5 days of food & water
- Pack all necessary medications and first aid supplies
- Include comfort items (toys, blankets, treats)
- Store copies of vaccination and medical records
- Ensure ID tags are current and readable
