What an amazing time we had last weekend! The @ Cayuga CNY Dressage and Combined Training Association engaged Susanne Hamilton to deliver a two-day dressage symposium. I’ll tell you a bit about her credentials. (Pour a cup of coffee … this woman is legit!)
Hailing from Germany, where she worked with young horses, Susanne became an American citizen and has trained and competed up through the FEI ranks. She has successfully competed at the international level where one of her accomplishments was representing the US in the Can Am Challenge at Devon. Susanne holds an “S” judges license and is a silver level ranked USEF Para coach.
We got to watch her work with a spectrum of horses and riders, including a few at Grand Prix level! And we all know how fun that is!
I would like to send a big shout (and Thank You) out to Sarah Pyne for all the work she did organizing and pulling the paperwork together!

Excuse us as we brag a bit about one of our boarders.

A great big congratulations to Jianna Simčik who is a member of Cornell’s Equestrian Team. Under the tutelage of coach Jo Garbarino Novakovic, Jianna and the team participated in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association’s Zone level competition where Jianna and two of her teammates successfully qualified for nationals. Jianna qualified in “Limit Flat”.
To accomplish this, in addition to your studies at Cornell is a huge accomplishment. We are all so proud of you!!

Good Grief!! It seems like only a few months ago our days were spent putting on coolers or heavies and feeding warm mashes. Now, our days consist of looking for missing fly masks (how do they get those off?), cold hosing and feeding electrolytes. I know they love us. But I’m not sure they are sufficiently grateful.
