Flying Dollar Ranch offers horse boarding, riding lessons and summer riding camps. We are very active in local horse clubs and shows.

Whew! There ain't no tired like stock show tired! But Houston Stock Show and Rodeo does it right and we always have a good time and learning experience. We are proud of our riders Allie, Hannah, Leighton, Phoebe amd Kaitlyn! Each student had some success whether it was showing their best showmanship pattern ever, winning their division, riding the buck off their horse, reigned in a rearing 2-year-old, competing in the Quarter Horse division for the first time or navigating a giant rail class. And we decided that we need t-shirts that says, "It ain't a horse show until somebody cries" - which I think we all did that too 😂. Especially when we were forced to take the drive home, exhausted and late, in 50 mile an hour winds driving an rv pulling a trailer and then had a flat. Mrs Julie might have screamed a time or two... ❤️🐴❤️

We sent our big girl horse owners off to show by themselves yesterday at Johnson County 4-H Open Horse Show. They did great without their trainers as I knew they would. Dr. Torres will be here on February 26 for chiropractic adjustments. Please let us know if you want your horse on the list. $135 for adjustment. She is also running a special for a package of chiro, acupuncture and shockwave for $225.

Our Story

A gorgeous Kentucky-style barn, on 115 acres - the perfect place to board your horse or take riding lessons! CHA certified riding instructor and World Champion trainer Julie Hinz teaches beginning to advanced lessons in both English (hunters), halter, and Western (show and trail) disciplines. We are very active in local horse clubs and shows. Headquarters and leaders for the Ellis County Silver Spurs 4-H Club, and leaders in the Ellis County Equine Association. We train our students to be able to trail ride, horse show, and enjoy a lifetime hobby with horses.

Boarding choices include a stall with turnout, private paddocks and group pasture. We feed twice a day which includes ample coastal hay that we grow ourselves. We have an outdoor, lighted riding arena with cushion sand footing, a round pen, a tree covered open riding area in front, and a long, tree covered trail for riding along Chambers Creek.
