This week has been such a wild ride! Here is what has been going on! Fasten your seatbelts!
Boujee was due on Sunday and much like her sister Bijou went right on her due date. Shout out to my husband who stayed home from running dogs in Finished while I judged the Seasoned hunt test at Marsh and Meadows. He midwifed 5 HUGE males and sadly one angel baby. We have joked that these pups are so big at birth that they will be running marks next week! Nice job Boo and Legion. I currently have just one deposit spot left on this crew.
Razz and Barrett litter:
Razz had a rough labor starting on Friday with the first puppy at 11:30 am and finishing on Saturday with her last puppy at 10 am. This was with help and oxytocin and a few crazy incidents. First one was our very first set of twins. One very tiny 7 oz black female and one very large 16oz black female. We also had a very tiny 7 oz yellow male that defecated in his sack prior to birth. Everyone else had great size and these pups are little savages when it comes to nursing. Unfortunately even with supplemental feeding and care, neither of our runts made it, and after 5 days we went from 10 to 8. Sometimes we are fighting against underlying issues we cannot always see and as we know, nature gives animals like dogs large litters because they donāt all make it generally. Though we try, we are not always successful when fighting the odds. Just very hard on us human caretakers. We were up every two hours around the clock with feedings, IV fluids and keeping them safe and warm. I will be contacting my list this evening and will know what is left on this litter when I am done. I may have black females since we have more than we anticipated, but this was a full deposit list and some may shift gender or color.
Bijou and Biggieās pups are one week old and soooo chubby! These absolutely stunning pups are all spoken for! After much prompting we did go with a Friends theme! It was just too perfect!
Last but not least Indieās Black and White themed litter! They are also one week old! I currently have just one black male and one black female deposit spot left.
Our next litter will be chocolate and due the end of July.
Fall/winter litters will all be Field/American. This will be the last of our Show/English litters for 2025. Fall and Winter litters will include chocolate, black, yellows from fox red to a medium yellow. We are current waiting for Kaos (all chocolate litter) Arsyn (fox red and black litter) and Lear for small size yellows.
