Attn Pet Parents: In recent news we’ve discovered along with the rest of you that Vereb Funeral Home and owner of Eternity Pet Memorial have improperly disposed of pets remains and deceived owners into thinking they were handled properly after owners paid for cremations, burials, returns of ashes, and other services.
We would like to notify our clients we are NOT associated with this company and strictly work with Trusted Journey who has a very precise, yet compassionate system regarding your pet’s aftercare.
We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to those affected, the actions described are inexcusable and disheartening.
April 30th, 2025 UPDATE:
Dear Cherished Clients of Barnes Lake Veterinary Center,
As this horrible Crematory situation unfolds, we would like to say that we are sad this has happened, and our hearts go out to everyone who may be affected by this heinous act. We understand fully what it means to Love a Pet. We understand the deep bond between a pet and pet-parent and this is why we are in the field of Veterinary Medicine. This why we do what we do. We do it for them, we do it for you.
Upon hearing of this abhorrent situation, with the knowledge we had at the time, we attempted to provide grieving hearts some peace by sharing that we had no association with Vereb Funeral Home. Unfortunately, we are finding out in real-time with you that we were exposed to Vereb Crematory Service between September 6, 2021, and April 24, 2024. Our previous provider, Pet Haven Cemetary, did have an association with this Crematorium and sadly, it is likely that some of the pets we lost during that time may have been sent to Vereb unbeknownst to us. We learned just today that Pet Haven did use the services of Vereb Funeral Home in Pittsburgh (for reasons that are his own and relative to his operation) and he is equally sad and outraged by their actions.
Both Barnes Lake Veterinary Center and Pet Haven want you to know, there is not and never has been any attempt to deceive anyone about this issue. It is we who have been deceived by VEREB. What is most important at this time is to help law-enforcement do their job and punish the wicked people who preyed on the sorrow of our clients and the loss of your precious pets.
At this time, we are suggesting that anyone who lost a pet and had that pet cremated during the timeframe above to Please call Scott at Pet Haven Directly at (724) 640-4093. Scott is willing and ready to speak with all of you and will be able to tell you if your pet did or did not go to the facility in question. If they were sent there, he will help you locate and fill out the paperwork to file with law-enforcement so they can prepare a case against this horrible person.
We will be working to get an official correspondence out to all Clients on record to which this unfortunate situation impacts with the instructions above.
