🚨 URGENT FOSTER PLEA FOR LULU 🚨
Lulu, a 6-year-old shepherd mix, is in desperate need of a calm and loving foster home. She is laid-back and relaxed while she's in the office with staff, but her overnight anxiety is taking its toll. Stress is causing her to panic and try to escape her kennel, which leads to injuries on her paws and legs.

We need your help to get Lulu out of the shelter and into a safe space where she can decompress and heal ASAP. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time. Please reach out today to give this girl the comfort and care she urgently needs.

We are saddened to announce senior pup Max is back with us after only 4 and a half months in a home 💔 At 8 years old, he was returned due to housing issues- nothing behavioral or temperament related. He is an absolutely wonderful, sweet boy and will make an amazing pet for someone! 🐾

1- Pick up your Trainer Passport at the front desk
2- Inside, you’ll find a list of adoptable “Pokémon” (a.k.a. our adorable dogs and cats)
3- Explore the shelter to find and “meet” each Pokémon on your list. stamp your passport as you go.
4- Collect all your stamps, and you’ll unlock a $25 adoption fee for your new best friend!

About Our Shelter

Founded in 1967 by four Irving residents who saw a need to care for stray and abandoned pets, DFW Humane Society has remained committed to rescuing neglected and unwanted pets and giving them a second chance in life through adoption.

Each year with contributions from compassionate and concerned donors, DFW Humane Society rescues and finds homes for almost 1000 pets. While at our shelter, our pets receive top-quality daily care and food, medical attention, when necessary, at local veterinary clinics, and love, interaction, and enrichment from both shelter staff and a host of dedicated volunteers.

With help from donors, we are also fortunate to have the Guardian Angel Fund, a restricted fund used to pay for extraordinary medical expenses such as heartworm treatments, broken limbs, and other higher-cost medical procedures.
