🐾 Today is National Check the Chip Day!
If your pet ever gets lost, a microchip can be the reason they make it back home to you—but only if your info is up to date.

Here’s what every pet parent should know ⬇️

✨ Microchips aren’t GPS trackers. They don’t show your pet’s location—they store your contact info so a vet or shelter can call you if your pet is found.
✨ They’re a permanent ID. Collars and tags can fall off, but a microchip stays with your pet for life.
✨ They need updates! If you’ve moved or changed your number, make sure your info is current so you can be reached right away.

✅ We can scan your pet’s chip at their next visit to make sure it’s working—and if they don’t have one yet, we can take care of that too.

📅 Book an appointment today and give yourself peace of mind. 🐶🐱 Call us at (949) 552-5200!

With wildfires impacting air quality across Southern California, it’s important to keep our pets safe. Dogs and cats are just as sensitive to smoke and ash as their humans are, and taking a few simple steps can make the world of difference to help them stay safe and healthy:

👉🏼 Limit their time outdoors - keep walks and playtime indoors for now.
👉🏼 Use air purifiers or HEPA filters to improve air quality at home.
👉🏼 Keep an eye out for signs of discomfort like coughing, rapid breathing or fatigue.
👉🏼 Refresh water bowls frequently to keep ash and debris out.

We know how stressful these moments can be, and we are here to support you 💙 if you are concerned about your pet’s health, our team is here for guidance! 🫶🏼

If your pet is showing any symptoms of respiratory distress, we are open Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm, and our Emergency and Critical Care team at on Sand Canyon are open 24/7 for any urgent needs! Call us at (949)552-5200; we are here to help!

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the Los Angeles County fires. Even here in Irvine, the strong winds and falling ash are a stark reminder of how far-reaching these fires can be. 💔

🐾 Here’s how to keep your pets safe during this time:
• Keep them indoors as much as possible to minimize exposure to smoke and ash.
• Use air purifiers or keep windows closed to maintain cleaner air inside.
• Monitor for signs of respiratory distress, like coughing, rapid breathing, or unusual fatigue - especially in short-snout dogs.

💡 Pro Tip: Now is a great time to double-check that your pets have updated ID tags or microchips, in case of emergencies. Ensure they are wearing their collars with your contact information at all times.

If your pet isn’t microchipped and that’s something you’d like to do, our Primary Care team at our Jeffrey Rd location can help. Call us at (949) 552-5200 for more information.
