Turns out Dr. Hill picked the ONE week to miss a shell-ebrity patient🐢! A snapping turtle stopped by for a wellness exam so while Dr. Hill was away, Dr. Dohrmann got to have all the fun!

** Disclaimer: while we’re always happy to help when we can, we do not routinely see exotic pets, and are not specialists in exotic animal medicine. Our ability to care for exotic species is more limited than with dogs and cats, and advanced diagnostics or treatment may require a referral to a veterinarian who specializes in exotics.**

🎇 Fireworks Are Fun for Us... BUT Frightening for Our Pets. 🎇

As fireworks season approaches, many pets experience overwhelming fear and anxiety. Loud noises, bright flashes, and unfamiliar smells can cause them to panic, run away, or even injure themselves trying to escape.

Here are a few ways to help keep your pet safe:

🐾Keep pets indoors before the fireworks begin.
🐾Create a quiet, comfortable "safe space" with their favorite blanket or bed.
🐾Play calming music or turn on the TV to help mask loud noises.
🐾Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with up-to-date ID tags and that their microchip information is current (talk to us about microchipping your pet if they are not)!
🐾If your pet has a history of noise anxiety, don't wait until the last minute! Talk to us about safe medications or calming options that can help them stay comfortable.

Planning ahead can make all the difference for your furry family members.

📞 Call us today at 641-238-0614 if you think your pet may need help getting through fireworks season. We're happy to help you find the best option for your pet!

🐾 NOW HIRING: Part-Time Kennel Assistant 🐾

Love animals? Don’t mind a little fur, slobber, or scooping p**p? We may have the perfect job for you.

We’re looking for a reliable, compassionate, hard-working kennel assistant to help care for our boarding dogs and cats. Duties include feeding, walking, medicating, cleaning, playing with pets, helping out in the clinic as needed, and generally keep our kennel running smoothly.

What we’re looking for:
• Animal handling experience
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated - able to work independently
• Comfortable getting a little dirty
• Good written communication and computer skills

Details:
• 10–15 hours/week. 3 hour shifts, either 8-11am or 2-5pm (somewhat flexible)
• Alternating weekends required, some holidays required
• Applicants must be at least 16 years old and either a high school graduate or a current high school student. (we do need to hire someone with some weekday morning availability so probably aren't looking for a high school student currently).

If you’re interested in working with a great team and spending some time caring for animals, we’d love to hear from you. Please fill out a job application at http://www.eldoravet.com/job.html.
