Our second day home also was visited with snow. Zoey was not afraid at all, but fascinated by the white stuff. She stayed outside until her feet got cold.

Our second day with Zoey was wild! She has a big personality and is the first dog we have owned that likes to watch t.v. She would stop whatever she was doing when she heard children's voices or a dog bark on the screen. I think she was missing her family for sure. She loves the cords and so we had to figure out a way to to hide them She loves going into small spaces and playing tug of war.

Our first day home was so much fun! Zoey had to explore the entire house. She is the first dog we ever had that locked into the television right away. Every time she heard children's voices she stopped and looked at the screen. I am sure it reminded her of the home she left in Michigan. Our first night was pretty sleepless because we let her sleep with us. When she woke us up we thought it was morning, so we got up and it was actually 1:30 a.m. We couldn't get back to sleep, so napped all day on Sunday. This was how Zoey looked at the end of day two.

It was by accident that we found Zoey. We had lost our two beautiful dachshunds about a year and a half ago. After grieving and saying we could never get another dog, we stumbled on a picture of a dog we immediately had love at first sight. She was available, but sadly, over nine hundred miles away from us. We took a survey of friends and they all said, "go for it!" She was available and lucky for us, the owner was willing to meet us part way. Her owner lived in northern Michigan and we live in Iowa, and it is winter!
