In reference to the post that K-Love Sparkle posted aiming it at me and my business, no she didnāt put my business name but sent direct messages to people on the post..
I have thought carefully about whether to respond to the rumors being spread about me and my grooming salon, and I feel it is important to share the truth.
My name is Darleen, owner of Darleenās Fur Babies Grooming Salon. I have been grooming in Citrus County for more than 45 years, and I take great pride in my work, my salon, and the care I give every animal that comes through my door.
About a month ago, a client brought in her two dogs, whom we have groomed several times before. After the appointment, she contacted me to say that one of her dogs, Coconut, had a very small nick near his bottom. The nick was not noticed when he left the salon. As soon as she contacted me, I apologized and advised her to gently clean the area and apply cornstarch. She later told me that within about 20 minutes, Coconut was fine.
The following morning, I called to check on him myself, and she again told me he was doing well. She even scheduled her next appointment for the following month.
Unfortunately, when it came time for that next appointment, I explained that because my rheumatoid arthritis has worsened, I am only grooming very small dogs that require minimal sc******ng. Her dogs are sweet, but they are very active and difficult to groom safely. I told her that she would need to find another groomer.
After that conversation, the situation changed. I received rude and insulting messages directed at me and my staff through my personal Facebook, my business Facebook, and even my personal phone. When the harassment continued, I told her that if it did not stop, I would need to contact an attorney.
For those who are concerned, please know this: every dog that comes into my salon is treated with love, patience, and care, as if they were my own. I would never intentionally harm an animal, and I would never hide it if an accident occurred.
In more than 45 years of grooming in Citrus County, I have never had a dog require veterinary care because of an injury caused in my salon. This was a very minor incident, one that I apologized for immediately and one that was resolved quickly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and trusted me with your pets over the years. Your kindness and loyalty mean more to me than you know.
