Here are 10 puppy FAQs I hear all the time:

1. When should puppy training start?
Immediately. Your puppy is learning from you the minute they walk through the door.

2. What’s the biggest house-training mistake?
Too much freedom too soon. Structure, supervision and consistency win.

3. Should everyone in the family use the same commands?
Absolutely. Five people speaking five different “languages” only confuses the puppy.

4. Why does my puppy bite everything—including me?
Because puppies explore with their mouths. Redirect, teach boundaries and stay consistent.

5. Should I punish accidents?
No. Improve the schedule, supervision and communication instead.

6. How much freedom should a young puppy have?
Freedom should be earned gradually. A puppy with unlimited access to the house can practice unwanted habits all day.

7. Why does my puppy listen sometimes but ignore me other times?
Usually because the lesson hasn’t been generalized yet. Kitchen obedience isn’t automatically backyard obedience.

8. Is socialization just meeting lots of dogs?
No. It’s calmly experiencing people, sounds, surfaces, environments and everyday life.

9. What’s more important—commands or communication?
Communication. Commands become much easier when your puppy understands what you’re asking and your family understands the puppy.
