💚🐶 As our community continues to recover, so many individual stories begin to emerge that bring about all kinds of emotions. This one brought on sad and happy tears. Our pet sitting neighbors at Paws on the River suffered immense property loss. Amazingly though, no loss of life. We are looking forward to seeing them rebuild. 🐾🥹

Casita Blu and Paws on the River were nearly destroyed in the flood. Now, the owner is rebuilding smarter—designing for safety in Texas' flood-prone Hill Country.

☺️🐾 When things are tough, there are few things more comforting than the company of a sweet dog. And we’ve been fortunate enough to have a lot of that since the Fourth. From big playful puppies to Lilly’s twin. It’s been more time inside than normal and extra blankets on the couch and towels on the floor and that’s okay. We’re grateful to do what we do and give these sweet doggy’s a comfortable home away from home for a little bit. ♥️🐶

♥️🍪 Guys, this week has been challenging for all of us in the hill country. But something that has been so special to witness is the love and care we have for each other. And the amount of support our community has received. One of these sweet people is Delaney with Wandering Whisk. In addition to helping rescue efforts on the ground and making food for our local fire department, she made us some super beautiful and super yummy cookies to brighten our day. This was a really lovely surprise. 🥹😊

🐾 A dog in our care last weekend lost her people in the flood. In addition to being shattered by this reality, we had a sweet little doggy who needs medicine each day. We knew Kerrville Veterinary Clinic had been her provider so we reached out to them before we sent this sweet dog to comfort her extended family; they provided a month’s supply at no charge. We have debated on sharing this info but we want to publicly thank them and also recommend them for your pet’s medical care. They have taken great care of our own over the years. ♥️

The last three days have been a blur. We went to sleep Thursday not thinking much of it. We had sweet little doggies in our care and it was raining and the next day was supposed to be something entirely different than it was.

We are shattered by the devastation in our community and we are still processing all of it. There have been lots of tears, lots of prayers, and trying to do what we can to help.

We are so incredibly proud of our amazing community; witnessing the countless acts of service to others has been a remarkable thing to see. We are so grateful to our state resources and their quick efforts to mobilize search and rescue operations. They wasted no time getting to work and we know so many people are still with us because of that.

Continue to pray for those missing. Continue to pray for the families and friends in mourning right now. Continue to pray for every first responder and volunteer that have witnessed some very traumatic things this weekend.

We love you Ingram, Kerrville, Hunt. Our hearts are breaking with you. ♥️
