Cowboy has been training up some new Early Birds! 🐦🎉 These students got their worms 🪱😆 and will be coming early to get their horses ready for lessons 🎉🐎👏🏼

The Early Bird prize is one of my favorite prizes in my program! Not only does it reward and celebrate responsibility, independence, and overall safety awareness around the horses, but it gives students MORE TIME! They get to be around the horses longer each week and they get to spend more time learning new things. All of the skills on the Early Bird checklist are important skills for spending time around and enjoying horses and they set students up for success!

Me: If these horses each need 10 gallons of water a day, and this tank holds 100 gallons, would all 6 in this pen have enough water if we fill it up?

Students: Miss Leah you could have 4 more horses! 😃

"Oooooh the sky is pretty! Say cheese!!!" 😁 Boy we've been having some beautiful weather for lessons already this month! And we're all LOVIN' it! 😍😍

Boy it was a busy week! I didn't spend as much time with this girl as I wanted to, but we still got lots done! Taught her to stand for a trim and got her feet all trimmed up, got her adjusted to pasture fencing and have been loving watching her enjoy the pastures, and worked on desensitizing her to bath time 😊 She has some skin issues that needed that attention and it all seems to be on its way to clearing up! We ALSO got Journey, the beautiful palomino in the photos, this week and he will be joining our lesson string for the summer. The two of them have been getting settled in and are getting to know our routine 🥰 I'm in no hurry with this girl.....but I do certainly need to pick out a name one of these days 🤣 she's tried on quite a few, but nothing has stuck yet!
