A fan recently shared that they wished they could have seen the Ice Tree top section fall. While we don’t have a video of this year’s falling ice chunk, we do have one from 2014 that we’re happy to share,

What sounded like another clap of thunder wasn’t thunder at all — it was a huge chunk of the Ice Tree falling off at 5:40 p.m. today, 2-28-26.

Feb. 20th vs Feb. 25th
Wednesday morning at 12:20 a.m., we were jolted awake by what sounded like a booming clap of thunder.
Only… it wasn’t thunder.
It was a giant chunk of the very top of the Ice Tree dramatically breaking off and cannonballing into our pond. 💥❄️🌊
Let’s just say the Ice Tree decided to redecorate in the middle of the night.
And this, dear friends, is exactly why we kindly ask you to stay on the pavement. The Ice Tree is beautiful… but she has her moods. When she sheds, she does not whisper — she makes an entrance.
We promise the view is just as lovely from the safe side of the pavement — and much less likely to come with a surprise midnight sound effect.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest couple visiting from Dayton, Ohio! They’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with a little sparkle at the Ice Tree before heading off to St. Elmo’s for dinner.
I’m thrilled for them… although I must admit, I’m just a tiny bit heartbroken that I didn’t score an invitation 😄💘
