Meet Lucky 🐾🍀

This is the kind of story that reminds us why Anna’s Fund exists.

Lucky had been missing for over four months. His family never stopped hoping, but as time passed, the chances of seeing him again felt smaller and smaller.

Then one early morning, while driving home, his owner spotted a dog on the side of the road… and somehow, it was him. When she called his name, Lucky ran straight to her.

Lucky was severely underweight and had a devastating tail injury that required amputation. Thanks to your support, Anna’s Fund was able to help cover the cost of his surgery so he could begin healing.

After everything he’s been through—being found against the odds and getting the care he needed—he truly lived up to his name. 🍀

After months alone, Lucky is now safe, loved, and recovering with his family—exactly where he belongs.

Stories like this don’t happen without you.

Please share Lucky’s story and consider donating to Anna’s Fund so we can continue to be there for pets when they need it most. 🐶💙

🐕🐈🌎Happy World Spay Day!🌎🐈🐕

Young and old, its important to spay and neuter your pets, as well as those that may be in your care!

Did you know that there are other reasons to spay and neuter, besides keeping pets from having puppies and kittens?
🙀Unspayed females can develop an infection in the uterus called a pyometra. This is a serious, life threatening condition. If this happens to your pet, this will result in an emergency surgery. If left untreated, pyometra can be fatal!
🐾Last year, 25% of Annas Pet Care Fund cases were pyometra, and emergency c-sections!
🙀Unspayed females are more likely to develop breast and ovarian cancer.

🐕Let's not leave out our male friends. Un-neutered males can develop testicular cancer, as well as develop enlarged prostate glands. Neutered males are less likely to stray from home.

🙀A popular myth we hear is that siblings will not reproduce, so they don't need to be spayed or neutered. That is FALSE! No matter your pets relation, if they are unaltered, they will reproduce!

🐾Let's be honest, overpopulation is a serious problem, especially in Indianapolis. Indianapolis Animal Control has been on emergency status since February 2022! One female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats in 7 years! One female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs in 6 years!

😿A new study shows in 2022, 4% more animals entered the shelters then left. What that means is 4%more animals are being brought to a shelter, and not leaving vs those being adopted, or being returned home!

😻Indianapolis has many low cost spay neuter clinics, please check out All Pet Express, Face Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic , Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic Brownsburg Indiana , Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic, West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic You can also apply for a spay neuter certificate through petfriendlyservices.org
If you have a colony you care for, many county humane societies have TNR (trap, neuter, release) services to help keep the feral population down as well!

😻For the health of your furry baby, please contact your vet, or a low cost Clinic about getting them spayed or neutered soon!

Meet Bruno 🐾

After being attacked by another dog, Bruno needed immediate care to repair his wounds. Thanks to your support, Anna’s Fund was able to help cover the cost of his repair procedure so he could get the care he needed and go home with his family.

Unexpected emergencies happen fast—and no family should have to face them alone.

Please share Bruno’s story and consider donating to help us save the next pet in need. Every share spreads hope, and every donation makes a difference. 🐶💙

❄️ Winter Storm Pet Safety Reminder ❄️

With dangerous cold, heavy snow, and possible power outages expected this weekend, please take a few extra steps to keep your pets safe:
1. Bring pets indoors. No pet should be left outside in extreme cold—hypothermia and frostbite can happen quickly.
2. Keep outdoor time brief. Short, supervised potty breaks only.
3. Wipe paws after going outside. Ice melt, salt, and chemicals can irritate paws and be harmful if licked.
4. Watch for cold stress. Shivering, lifting paws, whining, or lethargy are signs it’s time to warm up.
5. Prepare for power outages. Keep pets in the warmest room, off cold floors, with blankets for insulation.
6. Have a pet emergency kit ready. Food, water, medications, vet records, flashlights, and extra blankets.
7. Keep cats indoors. Severe cold and deep snow are especially dangerous—check car hoods and wheel wells before starting vehicles.
8. Provide fresh, unfrozen water. Pets can dehydrate even in cold weather.
9. Clear a safe potty path. Shovel a small area so dogs aren’t standing in deep snow or ice.
10. Check on others if you can. Make sure nearby pets have shelter, warmth, and water.

Please share to help keep pets safe during this storm!

Meet Peaches!

Peaches came to her veterinary team very sick and was diagnosed with pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection that requires immediate surgical treatment. Without prompt surgery, dogs with pyometra can rapidly decline.

Peaches needed emergency surgery, and Anna’s Pet Care Fund was able to step in and help financially so she could receive the lifesaving care she needed. Because of donor support, Peaches made it through surgery and was able to go home to recover with the people who love her.

This is also an important reminder of why spaying is so critical. Pyometra is a preventable condition, and spaying eliminates the risk entirely. Preventative care saves lives—but when emergencies happen, Anna’s Fund is here to help bridge the gap.

Please consider donating or sharing this post to help us continue saving pets like Peaches and educating families on the importance of prevention.

Cheers to a new year and many more lives saved! 🎉🐾

Meet Sushi! 🍣

Sushi is a 2-year-old cat who came to his veterinary team with a painful laceration on his neck caused by unknown trauma. Injuries like this can quickly become serious without proper treatment, and Sushi needed to be sedated so the wound could be thoroughly cleaned and repaired.

Thanks to the support of donors to Anna’s Pet Care Fund, Sushi was able to receive the care he needed. Covering the cost of his sedated laceration repair allowed him to heal properly and avoid further complications.

Because of your generosity, Sushi is now on the path to recovery and back where he belongs—safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Every story like Sushi’s is made possible by donations from people who believe pets deserve care, no matter the circumstances. Please consider donating or sharing this post to help us continue helping pets in need.

Meet Lily!

Lily is a 2-year-old mini schnauzer with a family who loves her dearly. When she suddenly became sick, her veterinarians discovered a foreign object lodged in her stomach. The only way to help her was an emergency exploratory laparotomy to remove it.

The surgery was successful, but the cost of urgent care can be overwhelming, especially when it comes without warning. Anna’s Pet Care Fund was able to step in and help cover Lily’s medical bill so she could receive the treatment she needed and go home where she belongs.

Today, Lily is recovering with her family by her side instead of facing an uncertain outcome because of finances.

Stories like Lily’s are why Anna’s Fund exists. Your donations help bridge the gap when pets need lifesaving care and families are doing everything they can.

Please consider donating or sharing this post to help us continue saving pets like Lily.
