Anyone else love a good trade situation?

I’ve got a few openings for service trades and would LOVE to swap with some awesome people!

Horsey trades are always welcome, but I’m also super open to non-horse things too. Think tattoo hours, plants, training, photography, bodywork, or honestly anything fun/creative you’ve got to offer.

I love supporting other small businesses and helping each other out. It’s such a win-win!

Shoot me a message if you’re interested or have an idea. The worst I can say is no!!❤️

Most “mystery lameness” isn’t actually coming from the leg.

It’s coming from how the body is compensating.

When a horse loses movement in the shoulder, ribcage, or pelvis, they don’t just move less…
they move differently.

And that difference gets paid for somewhere else in the body.

Example:
Restricted right shoulder → shorter stride → more weight is put unto the left front and right hind → increased strain on suspensory and hock (among others).

By the time you notice:
• tripping
• unevenness
• resistance in transitions
• sudden “attitude”

That pattern has already been living in the body for a while.

This is why bodywork isn’t about pampering.
It’s about mechanics and prevention.

Good bodywork looks at:
✔️ muscle symmetry
✔️ ribcage motion
✔️ pelvic position
✔️ scapula movement
✔️ movement patterns, not just sore spots

When we restore motion where it’s missing, the joints stop absorbing what the muscles should be handling.

That’s injury prevention.

So if your horse “passes the flexions” but still feels off under saddle…
It’s probably not a diagnosis issue.

It’s a movement pattern issue.

And that’s exactly what bodywork addresses.

Standing still doesn’t always mean easy.

Balance pads challenge a horse’s proprioception (body awareness), encouraging core engagement and activation of the small stabilizer muscles that support balance and coordination. The subtle adjustments made on an unstable surface help improve overall body control and strength.

A simple but effective tool I use for rehab, conditioning, and performance horses, tailored to each horse’s individual needs.

As this year comes to a close, I can’t help but feel incredibly thankful. King Equine exists because of the amazing clients who trusted me with their horses, believed in my work, and supported me every step of the way. Each session, conversation, referral, and word of encouragement has helped shape what this year became.

I’m also deeply grateful for the mentors, friends, family, and fellow professionals who supported me behind the scenes — your guidance and encouragement mean more than you know.

Looking ahead to the new year, I’m excited for continued growth, deeper education, and new achievements — all with the goal of providing even better care for the horses entrusted to me. Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to another year of learning, progress, and helping horses feel their best. ✨🐎

✨ Important Update for 2026 ✨

First, I want to thank every one of you for your continued trust and support. Working with your horses is truly a privilege, and I’m grateful for every client who allows me to play a small role in their horses’ comfort, performance, and well-being.

With that said, I need to share an update regarding my pricing. Beginning January 1st, 2026, there will be a $10 increase across all session types.

This is not a decision I make lightly. I truly wish I didn’t have to raise prices at all, but with the way the economy has shifted, rising costs have left me without much choice. I want to continue providing the same high-quality care, attention, and professionalism your horses deserve, and this small adjustment will help me maintain that standard.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding more than you know. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for supporting my small business and for trusting me with your amazing horses. 💛🐴

Sitting down after a long but really fulfilling week and just feeling so thankful for everyone who supports King Equine 🤍

This week I had the privilege of working on 10 incredible horses. Each one reminded me why I do what I do — the quiet moments of connection, the trust they give, and the lessons they so freely teach. No two are ever the same, and I’m constantly learning and growing alongside them.

One of those sessions was with my first ex-bronc, and that experience really stuck with me. Feeling their story written in every muscle, every breath — it’s humbling in a way that’s hard to put into words.

To all my clients: thank you for trusting me with your horses and for believing in this journey. Your support means more to me than I can ever express.

Bodywork is about more than just hands-on techniques — it’s about helping the horse learn to release and move freely within their own body.

In this video, McChayne, a 6-year-old OTTB gelding, is working on letting go of tension through targeted bodywork exercises on the ground. Under saddle, McChayne tends to hold tightness through his topline, which makes correct movement more difficult. By guiding him through specific exercises and encouraging him to stretch long and low, he’s learning to engage his body in a healthier, more balanced way.

The “long and low” posture is a cornerstone of correct biomechanics — it encourages the horse to lift through the back, engage the core, and stretch through the topline. This allows for freer movement, better connection from back to front, and helps build true strength rather than tension.

Bodywork is not just something we do to the horse — it’s something we teach them to participate in. When they learn how to release that tension themselves, the benefits carry through to every ride.

If you’re interested in helping your horse unlock their body’s full potential — on the ground and under saddle — reach out to learn more about my equine bodywork program.

INSPECT👏🏼 YOUR👏🏼 TACK👏🏼

In case anyone is looking for a sign to meticulously examine every piece of their tack, consider this your sign!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been experiencing significant difficulties with Dutch. While some rides were exceptional, most were subpar to say the least. Initially, I attributed the issues to my own performance, as that is often the case. However, I soon noticed a pattern. On 'dressage' days, Dutch performed remarkably well, but on 'flat' days, he was clearly uncomfortable. My next suspicion was that the saddle no longer fit properly, but my intuition suggested that there was an underlying issue. Despite doing massage, groundwork, and ba****ck riding, the problems persisted. Sunday's ride was THE WORST to date, with Dutch running out from under me, broncing, and throwing his head constantly. I was already in a bad mood, so I called the ride after 10 minutes. Afterwards, I decided to do athorough cleaning of my saddle and discovered an anomaly. The left side of the seat was wrinkled and exhibited excessive movement. Upon further inspection, I found that a portion of the tree was protruding (see second picture) from the bottom… My stomach dropped and I felt terrible. I unknowingly was riding Dutch with a broken tree for God only knows how long. Learn from me and throughly inspect your tack on a regular basis!

On the bright side, our dressage saddle is sound so we’ll be working on our dressage💃
