BE AWARE. - BOERBOEL BREEDERS and BUSINESS INVESTORS - RE: ROBERT CAPELLI, aka The Large Breed Campus, aka The Jäger Company, aka The Boerboel Research Campus, aka whatever else he has come up with.

Please be advised that we do not recommend giving this person money towards business investments, and please do not purchase frozen Boerboel semen from him without first:
1. speaking with the storage facility yourself to confirm that it actually exists.
2. speaking with the storage facility yourself to confirm that if the semen exists, that it IS eligible to be transferred into your name. In otherwords, make sure there is not a past due storage bill that will prevent transfer. In our instance, we paid his 2024/2025 past due semen storage bills at Dr Truesdale’s office in MA to get our breedings “out of hock” so that the breedings could be transferred into our name and shipped to us, and then later discovered that the semen he sold us did not exist.
Background: We paid Robert Capelli in full for frozen Gamka breedings in Oct 2024. I already had some here that we bought a few years ago from Koos, but figured why not buy some more when I heard Robert was selling his. At the same time Jeff K***z (Brickyard Boerboels) had also purchased some frozen Gamka semen, as well as frozen semen on the Boerboel male that Robert owned at the time. Jeff can tell his own story as he bought more breedings than we did. And we aren’t the only ones.
How did this all happen? Well, I thought the Robert was professional. He called looking for input on the breed overall, and over a few weeks time we talked for hours. And it helps that he talks a good game. He likes AI, so that helps when making posts that sound intelligent, even if some of the details are inaccurate. We waited for the Gamka semen to be shipped to us and it never happened. Honestly I thought that he was just busy, and had not had the time to transfer and ship the semen to us. Since we weren’t in a rush, it was at the back of my mind.
Robert then later approached us to review his plans and about investing in his not for profit (The Jäger Company) to help with Boerboel breed preservation. When it comes to Boerboels, we are all over trying to help and I am sure that is what led him to asking. He sent us a business plan and a link to a property in MA that he planned to buy with investor money. He explained how he was planning to keep roughly 80 adult Boerboels there, and that he would not be selling puppies because he learned how much the IRS takes out in taxes the hard way when he won a big lawsuit awhile back. So instead he would do business as a not for profit, and would accept donations of $3800- $4000 and then you would get a puppy in return for donating. It was a way for him to avoid paying taxes. Side note, we checked with the State of Massachusetts and the IRS and “The Jäger Company” was not a valid not for profit in MA or with the IRS (as of a few months back) because the proper subsequent docs were never filed.
Most of you may remember the posts he was flinging out left and right. He was asking for $100,000 per investor for the made up large breed canine campus that didnt exist. I informed him that we were not interested in investing financially. Hopefully nobody else was either, because by Feb we got slapped with the reality that my bu****it meter had malfunctioned severely and we had been scammed🤣. I discovered that a former employee of his named Mark Templeton had sued him in June/July 2024 for non payment of wages, and won by year end. A lot. Apparently the State of Massachusetts does not approve of labor law violations. It then occurred to me that maybe all of these requests for investors last Fall was to sucker the Boerboel people/dog breeding community into helping pay off all that legal debt. When confronted, he said he couldn’t pay his past due storage or refund us because his accounts were frozen over the law suit and that he was horribly embarrassed and was taking full accountability. But if he had money prior to that, why would he have not paid for his 2024 storage fees. It’s a semen storage bill for crying out loud, not a mortgage.
So then it all started making more sense. I haven’t heard from him now since March 15th, 2025 after multiple promises to refund. He didn’t block me until I saw that he had posted on a Kennel Properties For Sale Facebook group, where he was searching for kennel property to purchase. I commented that I hoped he would be paying back the thousands owed to folks and he then removed his post and blocked me. Not however, before someone screenshotted my comment and reached out to us because he was trying to purchase her family owned kennel on contract via her realtor. Mind you, this guy is NOT a breeder and never has been.
Now before you say “Wait, La Boela Boerboels has worked with him”, there is a little more to that. Their dealings were such that Robert was to provide the frozen semen already stored in South Africa and he was to get puppies back from La Boela in return if the breedings resulted in puppies. When I made a post in Feb asking if anyone knew how to reach him(because he had quit responding), Chandre at La Boela reached out to me, and was very concerned. She was in the midst of working out a deal on some frozen semen in SA and became aware that Robert owed some of us in the USA frozen semen. He admitted it to her and told her repeatedly that he was taking care of us immediately. He also asked me numerous times to remove my post. Chandre kept in touch with us throughout, and we helped to make sure she had her bases covered before using the semen. She is aware that we, as well as others, were scammed and have never been refunded. La Boela is not associated with our bad transaction with Robert.
There is more, so much more, but my time is running out for the evening. I am not one to blast people, and Lord knows we have a whole boatload of folks that have ripped us off of taken advantage of us over the years. Taking advantage of us is one thing. Taking advantage of others hits me completely differently. I will add additional info later. In the meantime…
Do Not donate. Do Not Invest. Do Not Buy. If you already did and didn’t get what was paid for in return, then report it. He is a smooth talker. Not everyone is as they seem. For those that want additional details, send me a PM. There are far too many too attach below. My post today is because I caught wind that he was at it again looking for land and investors, and I don’t want to see others get taken advantage of.
On a side note, since he likes to threaten law suits in FB groups, have at it buddy. We consulted with our attorney prior to posting.
