👰🏻🤵🏻💍🐶 Saturday I had the honor of being a dog handler for a wedding. I started walking the brides dog Beanie in 2018 & I worked her sisters wedding a couple years ago. The bride was stunning, the groom was dashing, the venue was beautiful & Beanie in a bow tie is the cutest. I forgot a change of clothes so I was the best dressed dog walker last night when I walked Hannah Banana.

This is how Ivy went from 151 pounds to 105 pounds. Her allergies disappeared. Her ear condition cleared up. Her paws don’t itch. Her coat is shiny. Her skin is perfect. She’s feeling better than ever! She deserves more than a bag of kibble. The universe did NOT intend for dogs to eat corn, wheat, soy, high heat cooked biproduct, meat meal, preservatives and toxins…a.k.a. kibble. Don’t believe your vet. The veternarian schools teach students that kibble is balanced and nutritious. Might as well let your kids live on Cheerios too. 🐾🥬🫐🥦🥕🥒🍎🍠🥚🥩

Today I did my first paid professional solo training gig with this sweet 1+ year Cavalier King Charles named Rocky. It went great!!!🤩
Rocky hasn’t had a stable home until now & he is resource guarding his new human mom.
When Rocky’s human picked him up from the breeder, Rocky rode home on his new mom’s lap. His new human comforted Rocky on the way home with “baby talk”, which dogs perceive as a weak characteristic. Baby talk makes most dogs feel the need to be in charge because the tone of the human isn’t one of leadership. DOGS NEED LEADERS! Rocky claimed his new human mom immediately & would not let her husband or elderly golden retriever near her without growling & nipping.
Resource guarding of a human will only get better if the human changes THEIR behavior. First, we had to remove elevation from the equation because elevation to a dog equals hierarchy. This means no more sitting in her lap, sleeping in her bed or carrying Rocky… which were all things they have been doing. These activities worsen resource guarding & separation anxiety. We worked on canine style body language and tone of voice that expresses leadership to dogs.
I have confidence that Rocky’s humans will do great making these adjustments for a more harmonious household.
I have officially been studying canine psychology/training for 2 years. There is no way I would let anybody that only has 2 years of any kind of training touch me or my dog, but I also have years of experience under my belt in the resource guarding department so I knew I could help. Awesome experience for all of us.

You play stupid games you win stupid prizes. This golden I walk 7 days a week is obsessed with eating her own p**p almost daily (when she is not with me) so we are muzzle training on walks so her human can muzzle her soon when she goes out in the backyard to potty. She’s tried every ingredient, product & prescription on the market that is supposed to make p**p taste worse to p**p eaters. 🤯🤦‍♀️🤢💩 I only use breathable Baskerville brand muzzles!! Note: She does NOT eat p**p when she is with me because I’m the leader & I won’t allow it & she knows that so she won’t ever try.

I haven’t had a 3-pack in a while. I walked the new guy separately for 2 weeks until we got reactivity to squirrels/dogs squared away. Now they are a dream to walk all together, 6 days a week.

Welcome Fozzie Bear! And then there were 3. My client with the 2 Pyrenees rescued a third one. I think this one is part doodle, but a DNA test will give us more info soon. Dogs are most comfortable when they have a strong leader that they respect and follow. A strong leader who controls the situation is very comforting for a pack animal such as a dog. IT TAKES A HUGE BURDEN OFF THE DOG. Without your leadership, all they have is instinct. Fight, flight or freeze.
When the dog's owner (pack leader) sets clear expectations and has consistent behavior, the dog is happy & feels safe.
When the alpha (pack leader) comes down to the dog's level and tries to "comfort" them, the dog interprets that as the leader being afraid too. Panic sets in.
Before that, they only THOUGHT the world was ending. Now they KNOW the world is going to end because their leader is afraid too!
As far as kids, if your toddler thought a monster was in their closet, would you climb into bed and tremble with them, letting them believe you also thought a monster is there? Or would you confidently say, "Don't be silly, there is no monster".

Do the research & weigh the dangerous health concerns, injury risks & awful learned behaviors vs. the fun social rewards before choosing doggie daycare or dog parks as an option. I WOULD NEVER TAKE A DOG TO EITHER!! 🐕⚠️
