Our Story
We are a small family with a love for small, non shedding, hypoallergenic dogs. I, Wendy, have been allergic to dogs all my life, but that hasn’t kept me from owning them! From mutts, to show dogs, to rescues, lap dogs, counter surfers and couch potatoes, I’ve owned them all :) In all of the years of owning a dog, I have been especially critical of owning a good representation of the breed or the mix. Appearance, temperament, and health are important and matter when you’re adding a member to your family.
Presently we have 5 dogs in our family. Reagan is the patriarch. He is an AKC registered tiny toy poodle of champion lineage, weighs 5#, is 16yo, and starting to show his age. We know his days are dwindling, but he still gets around and acts like he’s one of the younger dogs. He was our stud dog over 10 years ago and has remained “intact” even though he has not been used for breeding in the last 10 years. He has been very clean in the house, and unlike a lot of people think......male dogs do not lift their leg everywhere in the house! LOL.
After the passing of Reagan’s mate, we couldn’t go long without having another little furry friend. This time we fell in love with a cute ball of fluff-maltipoo Chardonnay. Chardonnay was nicknamed “Happy” by the breeder. Her tail constantly wags as she has no enemies and loves everyone. She became a mama for the first time May, 2020 and surprised us at how well she took to having pups to tend to. She has been quite the diva dog as she goes for car rides, doggie sno cones, pampering, and of course a spot right on the bed next to our daughter. Since she was a bouncing, happy puppy, we felt sorry for old Reagan not being able to keep up with a puppy.....so we decided to get a playmate for Chardonnay. “Char” was potty trained and we were all set......and then got another puppy to start it all over again!
Introducing our 3rd pup....Rose’. Sticking with the poodle mix, I’ve called Rose’ a “Poo-Shih-Poo.” Mama dog was a Shih Tzu poodle mix, and daddy was a beautiful blue merle poodle. Rose’ carries that blue merle color gene as well as blue eye gene! We thought we could never have a pup as sweet and happy as Chardonnay, but Rose’ has proved us wrong! She is very submissive, loves to roll over for a belly rub, play with her ball, and sleep snuggled right up to you with it. She will be a first time mama in June 2020 and we can’t wait to see what color pups she has!
