My will be raising Boer and Boer / kiko goats. We will have babies in January or possibly sooner. Can’t wait to see what these babies look like. His buck is gorgeous

Please keep my friend in your prayers. She has a long road ahead of her but she’s one of the strongest people I know.

🧡 Lifting Up Cally 🧡

I want to take a moment to ask for prayers and support for someone in our local farm and goat community. (Shes helped here on our own 🐐 farm before as well!) She’s got a great heart. ♥️
— our incredible Cally has been through more than anyone should ever have to bear. 💔🤍✝️

In just the last few weeks to months, she has:

*Lost her beloved mother to cancer 💔
*Found the strength to leave a violent marriage 💪🏽
*And now — just 1 night ago — she was in a serious car accident,
hit while driving home from work. 😣

She suffered:

Shattered knees
2 broken femurs
1 sheen bone
a rib
A dislocated hip
& Punctured a lung.

update after one surgery: Her right leg has been fixed.
And required a blood transfusion.

Her car was also totaled. 💔

🗣️ Y’all… this woman needs every ouncCally Kyzar McDonaldnd light we can send her way right now.

Cally is a fighter. She’s still here, and we’re so grateful. But the road ahead is long. If you know her, love her, or just feel moved by her story — please keep Cally Kyzar McDonald and her family in your heart. 🧡

🙏🏽🤍 I’m including a few pictures of Cally, some of her goats (trust me — she’s got more now 🥰), and one of her and her beautiful mama, Ms. Peggy — who recently passed and was deeply loved by her family and this community.

If anyone has fundraiser ideas, please share them. Cally’s going to need help — she can’t walk or work right now, and i’m sure she’s still going to need help to keep her farm going and her goats fed, while trying to keep her lights on. ❤️‍🩹

No one asked me to post this — I’ve just been in a similar spot with surgeries and being out of work, and I know how much even a small bit of support can mean in the worst of times. 🙏🏽

She hasn’t had time to even think about all this yet. But we can. Thank you in advance for lifting her up.

Owning livestock is beautiful, but it’s also brutal.

People show the good parts. The chicks hatching. The newborns learning to stand. That first wobble. That first feed. And yes, it’s magical. It’s what keeps you going.

But what they don’t show is the grief.
The way you walk into the barn and something’s wrong.
The panic. The helplessness. The silence that follows.

We don’t just own animals, we love them.
Even when we have dozens, we know each one. Their quirks. Their sounds. Their routines.
We bottle feed them. We cheer for their first steps. We hope for them.

And when we lose one, it wrecks us.
No, it doesn’t get easier.
Not when you loved them like that.

You still cry in the stall.
You still carry the guilt.
You still bury them with your own two hands and whisper “I’m sorry” even if you did everything you could.

This life is raw.
It’s real.
It’s soul work.
And it hurts, because love always does.
