1176 Hrs
What would you consider fare compensation for 1176 hrs of labor?
That's the number of hours I devote to puppies from the moment the are born til they are 10 weeks old.
I assist with their births, make sure their sacks are broken, mama cleans them, their placenta is delivered. I even cut the cords. I only sleep maybe 4 hours a night the first two weeks each night and not 4 hours in a row. I make sure they're warm, and clean and mama is feeding them like she should. I weigh them and make sure they're gaining weight and thriving. I cuddle them, speak to them. I introduce them to sounds and situations. I play with them. I introduce them to healthy food as they are weaned.... food that costs good money. I wash bedding. I buy disposable and washable potty pads. I launder soiled pads. I wash beds. I clean toys when they're dirty. I wash puppies. I clean dirty butts. I buys toys. I provide health care. I pay for registration. I keep mama and dad healthy. Aunts and Uncles too. I advertise and spend time talking to potential homes 🏡 and "tire kickers" I pour my heart and soul into these babies well before and long after I assist their mama's bring them into the world.
I'm not quite sure what you "think" a puppy should cost....but I can tell you the amount of love, fun and dedication one of my babies will bring to your life is priceless.
I can tell you my expertise in whelping and raising puppies is pretty Damn Valuable as well.
My dogs are not expensive.... they may just be more than you're willing to pay. If you don't see their value, you're not the right fit.
God's done a great job bringing the right parents into our lives dor my babies and I know he will do the same this time.
I understand the economy in tough these days...but that doesn't reduce the value my babies have. I am good about working with the right people to make things happen.
This is my last litter. It's bittersweet. One thing I won't miss is educating people what the cost of a well bred lifetime family member is.
