Feedlot Friday! We care about our cattle. We care about their nutrition (the bovine’s have their own personal nutritionist), their health (we monitor cattle health by checking all the cattle daily), and their well being (we do our best to maintain pen conditions for cattle comfort). Every now and then we even make friends. Meet Beaufort.

Who doesn’t want to ship fats in a slight winter weather advisory? All cattle, horses and riders are safe. We shipped until conditions halted the process. Eat beef, we work hard to get it to consumers.

It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of this season, but often our focus shifts and we forget the real reason for the which we are to celebrate. "For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 We wish everyone a very blessed Christmas and pray that the joy of this season truly finds a place in your hearts!

Despite daylight savings, these are the longest days for feedlot hands. There are days we saddle in the dark and long trot out after a fat pen, hoping our horses see well enough to navigate and crossing our fingers they don't see any boogie men along the way. As we make our way towards the line of trucks with the cattle, the steam and dust rising in the rising sun, it's difficult not to enjoy the beauty all around us. For a moment, we can soak in God's creation and ignore the fact that we still have a full day ahead and will likely watch the sun go down while still horseback. This life is not for the faint of heart. But it is the most rewarding industry many of us have ever been lucky enough to live in. 💜
