This Samoyed came in with a whole lot of fluff… and we mean A LOT of fluff! 😂☁️

Double coated breeds like Samoyeds have an impressive amount of undercoat, and when that loose hair starts building up, a proper deshedding appointment can make a huge difference.

This fluffy friend got a deep deshed to help remove all that extra coat, followed by a tidy trim to clean up their look while keeping their beautiful Samoyed coat healthy.

⚠️ Foxtails Are More Than Just a W**d

As temperatures rise and grasses begin to dry out, foxtails become a serious hazard for pets. These grass seed heads may look harmless, but their unique shape allows them to travel in only one direction, meaning once they attach to your pet, they continue moving deeper into the body instead of working their way back out.

Foxtails can become lodged:
• Between the toes
• Inside the ears
• In the eyes
• Up the nose
• Under the skin
• Around the mouth
• In long or dense coats

If left untreated, they can cause painful abscesses, severe infections, tissue damage, and in some cases may migrate deeper into the body, requiring surgical removal.

Common signs of a foxtail injury include:
🐾 Excessive licking or chewing at a paw
🐾 Sudden limping
🐾 Head shaking or scratching at the ears
🐾 Persistent sneezing
🐾 Squinting or excessive tearing
🐾 Swelling, redness, or draining wounds

While grooming cannot eliminate the risk, routine grooming can help reduce it. Keeping the hair between the paw pads trimmed, removing excess coat around the ears, and maintaining a well-brushed coat makes it much easier to spot and remove foxtails before they become embedded.

After every walk, hike, or outdoor adventure, take a few minutes to thoroughly inspect your pet, especially if they have been in tall grass or dry fields. Early detection can make all the difference.

If you suspect a foxtail has become embedded, avoid trying to dig it out yourself. Contact your veterinarian promptly, as delaying treatment can allow the foxtail to migrate further and cause more extensive damage.

A few minutes of prevention can help protect your pet from a painful and potentially serious injury this summer.

🛁 Bubble Bath Bliss with Mocha ☁️🤎

Some pups think bath time is the worst part of the groom... but Mocha made it look like a luxury spa day! 🫧✨ Between the bubbly soak, all the pampering, and that adorable teddy bear face, it's safe to say he stole our hearts.

Mocha has been growing his beautiful coat back after suffering from alopecia, so today wasn't just about getting clean. We gave his coat a little extra TLC by using Hydra Repair and Volumizing Conditioner to help nourish and hydrate his recovering hair. While no conditioner can cure alopecia, keeping new coat growth moisturized and healthy can help it look and feel its best as it comes back in.

The result? A soft, fluffy coat, a happy pup, and one very handsome little Pom! 🐻🤎
