Like many others in our community, we were shocked and saddened to learn about the charges involving the former market manager.
We want to be very clear that we had no prior knowledge of these allegations. As vendors, we simply showed up each week to run our small businesses and serve our community.
Our hearts are with anyone affected by this situation, especially the victim and families involved.
At the same time, our family business depends heavily on the farmers market season, and choosing to continue participating is not an endorsement of any individualโs actions. We believe the market itself represents many hardworking local vendors, farmers, makers, and families who were also blindsided by this news.
We appreciate the support, kindness, and understanding from those who continue supporting small local businesses during a very difficult situation for the entire community.
And yes, I did get help drafting this message. It's been very hard to find words that can even come close to making sense today.
