We offer a friendly, family-oriented and fast paced work environment. Hours are negotiable and wages are based on experience; wages and full-time benefits are highly competitive.

It is with profound sorrow and deepest regret that we share the news of the passing of our loyal and dedicated veterinary assistant extraordinaire, Valerie D. Nolan.
Valerie died on Thursday, March 20, 2025, following a medical emergency and car accident.
Valerie had been with the Ida Veterinary Clinic since June 1986, and would have soon marked her 39th year of continuous employment with us in service to the owners, pets, and farm animals of this community. With her many years of experience, Val shared a wealth of practical knowledge with clients seeking advice. She was "the answer lady." Val had a sharp wit and an even sharper mind for details. She was the ultimate multi-tasker. Val set the
gold standard for a strong work ethic and for employee dependability, reliability and punctuality. She was a fierce Wordle and Connections player, and would somehow manage to get the whole clinic to play along with her. She also loved to share videos and stories about her pet pigs, Mushu and BeBe, and all of the mischief they managed to create.
Valerie's passing leaves a void in our work family that will be incredibly difficult to fill.
We will be closed this Friday, March 29th, to honor Valerie and attend her Memorial Service.
We ask that you please keep Valerie's husband, children, grandchildren and extended family and all who knew her and loved her in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest Well, Dear Friend!

Greetings Friends of the Ida Veterinary Clinic!
Drs. Brian and Kelsey DeLand are taking a trip in September: We're so excited to have the opportunity to spend September 8th through the 26th together hiking across the English countryside from coast to coast.
While we are gone, the clinic will be open from 9 am - 6pm Monday - Thursday and 9 am -3 pm on Friday. During the month of September, we will be open on the following Saturdays: September 9, September 16, and September 30.
We are very excited to have Dr. Paul Taylor filling in for us at our clinic to see routine and urgent care appointments for our small animal patients in our absence. If you are a large animal owner and have an urgent care need arise, Dr. Nathan Zauel, Dr. Allison Oliver, and Dr. David Bezek will be available during regular business hours to see our patients. Please call the clinic for their contact information. All after-hours large animal emergencies will be referred to the MSU Large Animal Veterinary Medical Center in East Lansing (517-353-9710): we encourage all owners to have a transport plan in place should an emergency arise.
If you have any questions, please contact the clinic at 734-269-3824. Dr. Kelsey and Dr. Brian plan to have a blog detailing their travels: we will post a link to the clinic page when it is up and running so you can follow along on our journey. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our family business these past 75 years!

Update: This pup hs been reunited with his owner!

FOUND: This sweet young male brindle and white Boxer was dropped off at our clinic by a FedEx driver who found him running in Ida West Road. He is microchipped, but unfortunately his microchip was never registered. He is also wearing an invisible fence-type collar. Please contact our clinic at 734-269-3824 if he is yours or you know where he may belong!

A Heartfelt THANK YOU!
Thank you to our valued clients for your continued support during the current Covid-19 challenges. We appreciate the trust you have given us to care for your pets and communicate with you remotely, for following the necessary restrictions and for supporting our Michigan small family business.

And thank you to our employees, who have carried the burden of the extra workload the restrictions required. They have moved all pets to and from vehicles, delivered medication and supplies, rain or shine, and have managed persistent phones with professionalism, humor and dedication.
They are the backbone of this business and we greatly appreciate them!!

UPDATE 4-3-19: Eleven was, of course, patiently waiting for us at the door this morning when we arrived 😁 Thank you SO much to the wonderful Ida community for all of your shares and comments: we are so thankful for your support and Eleven’s return!

Due to a series of unfortunate events involving the power outage, a generator, and an open garage door, our youngest clinic cat, Eleven, has gone missing. She is a two-year-old tortoiseshell domestic short-haired cat (as pictured) with an occasional limp in her right front leg. Eleven is not a big fan of the outdoors so we are hopeful she has not wandered far: if you are in the Ida area and see her please contact our clinic at (734) 269-3824. Thank you!
