One of the great things about this business is that one can work and manage clients on the road. I’m always available for text, Messenger or even FaceTime consults. Also, pricing is contingent upon need; not everyone needs a “package” so we tailor to individual horse needs and budget. Rehab, conditioning and feed management can add up quickly, but here we understand that and try to assist as much as possible.
“Your horse is our client and our priority” ❤️
Looking forward to a busy season, seeing returning clients and new!!

It’s that time of year again!! The weather looks like it could be giving us Northerners a break, so let’s get those ponies in shape. Barrel races are starting back up again, and rodeos not too long after. I’m sitting here in rainy Florida working on my schedule, and we are starting to get very full for spring conditioning (and babies 🥹) so send me a message and let’s get your best friend(s) on the roster!!! Package deals and the more horses you send, the more money you save🐴

CELEBRATE YOUR OWN WINS

It’s important to run your own race. Ride your own horse, do your own warm up, and celebrate your own wins. It doesn't matter if there are 25 or 500 entries, everyone wants to win, but ultimately, everyone has to show up to even be one step closer to winning.

You owe it to yourself to fully show up in this lifetime... Get off autopilot! Save the excuses. It's not about having time... It's about making time.

Winning doesn’t look the same for everyone and that is perfectly OKAY.

Some days winning is finally owning that horse who gives you the chance to place at that big show.

Some days winning is that your horse is sound after months of time off.

Some days winning is that your horse walked into the alleyway.

Some days winning is that you left three barrels standing.

Rarely ever is “winning” actually WINNING. Most of the wins happen outside of that arena.

Don’t compare your win to the person who took home one of the round checks... You never know, that may be just what they needed to not give up on their dreams. Congratulate them for that win after you congratulate yourself.

It is so easy to get caught up in the idea of “winning” that we lose sight of our own goals, how far we have come, what we have conquered, and the wins that we let slip by us because they weren’t declared a WIN on paper.

Easier said than done, I know. I'm my own worst critic. Nothing is ever good enough for me. I'm the worst at not cekevrating my small wins.

So in case you haven’t heard it... in case you are like me, or in case you haven’t told yourself lately... CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WIN!

YOU DESERVED EVERY DAMN ONE OF THEM!!!

At some point this winter, every horse owner ends up in the same spot:

Standing in mud, staring at their horse, realizing they are now the CEO of a financially ruinous, emotionally demanding, hay-powered charity.

You start doing the mental math.

Feed and fuel prices that make you sweat and scrape up as much hay as you can off the floor by the feeder…
Taxes and fees creeping up like a downed barrel…
Bedding. ANY…..
Supplements you didn’t mean to add but here we are….
Dentist visits, bodywork, vaccinations, farrier bills that cost more than your weekly Walmart order….

Blankets that cost the same as a short break you absolutely did not take.
Blankets, sheets and onsies that needed repaired.
Blankets that were destroyed anyway.

And the horse?
Blissfully ignorant.
Living their calm, forage-based dreams while you spiral over bills and overdrafts.

Here’s the thing no one says because it feels a bit too raw.
The only reason your horse is thriving in this current economic crisis is because you are quietly breaking yourself in tiny, responsible ways.

They don’t know that it’s you budgeting, cutting corners, selling tack, cancelling plans, eating Uncrustables so they never miss an appointment.

Horses only experience the outcome:

✨️warmth
✨️routine
✨️full belly
✨️predictable humans

They never see the emotional and financial roller coaster behind it.

People joke about “horse poor,” but underneath the humour is a level of devotion most people can’t imagine.

You’re out here holding an animal’s entire world together while the country falls apart around the edges (financially)

So if you're feeling stretched, tired, bitchy, or one invoice away from tears, it isn’t because you’re failing.....

It’s because you’re doing everything right in a system that makes it absurdly hard right now.

Your horse is safe because of you.
That’s the quiet, unglamorous truth of the current climate. 👌

Go on❤️

When there really are good people out there! Thank you Matt @ Horse Trailer Pros!!

Whenever we have a trailer in need of any kind of repair, no matter major or minor, our friends Matt and staff at Horse Trailer Pros are always there to help. Our Friend Rebecca Rice and Shangri La Horse Farm and Equine Center needed help with here trailer today while we're here outside of Ocala. Matt came out and took care of it on site.

Thank you Matt and HTP!

12/22/2025

The Winter Solstice is a turning point for us horse people (emotionally, spiritually, and with some mild delusion....), and here’s why:

1. The days officially stop getting shorter, which means we can all pretend we’ll soon be riding after barn work and/or work again instead of feeding by headlamp like raccoons.

2. There is psychological relief in knowing the darkness has peaked, even if it’s still pitch black by 4:45 p.m. and your horse believes nighttime is for kicking their run in walls or yelling for their friends.

3. You can tell yourself winter is “half over,” even though Mother Nature has not been consulted and is absolutely not on board with that narrative.

4. Barn chores feel slightly less soul-crushing when you convince yourself the sun is “on its way back” while breaking ice with a hammer, or blowing ice boogers out of your nose.

5. You regain just enough optimism to buy new gloves, knowing full well they’ll be soaked, frozen, and missing by January.

6. Horses seem marginally less feral, or maybe that’s just you dissociating while watching them buck or roll in the mud.

7. You start making irresponsible spring plans, like show schedules, clinics, and fitness goals, despite still wearing five layers and thermal underwear.

8. The solstice gives us permission to hope, which is essential barn fuel right up there with caffeine and spite.

And while today does mark a tiny, flickering light at the end of the tunnel, let’s be clear: winter is far from done with us — there’s still a long stretch of cold fingers, frozen hoses, mud season, and at least one surprise snowstorm ahead, so pace your optimism accordingly.

Stay strong, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
