Our tenant in the tenant house has a landscaping business. Yesterday he, his partner Mike and 5 employees showed up with chainsaws , a chipper and a dump truck and. Nowvtge sorucebis a pile
Ofbsoruce chips in the upper pasture. The drive way is swept clean of spruce parts and needles. Mike’s estimate came in at 1/3rd of the estimate from the tree company. Wow. Still have a bit of fence fixing to do.

Anyone in Maryland who wants Mike’s contact info - let me know.

The kennel business phone line gets LOTS of spam and phising calls because I can’t set it to ignore numbers not in my phone book. It is a business number and new clients may call. Recently I have been getty many calls for “ Cheryl” about updating the service contract on her 2015 Mercedes. We are not Cheryl and the only Mercedes we ever had was in the early 200’s. It was a lemon, had a problem that triggered a recall and we traded it in on a Hylander long time ago.
So when this morning’s call came for Cheryl, I told the real person
“Cheryl died in a car accident that totaled the Mercedes. “
Caller said “Thanks I will update the account”. And hung up rather than trying to get me to buy a service contract on some other car I might own.

Several years ago on of the tall spruce trees in the dog yard snapped off around 4 feet above the ground in a windstorm. Nic trimmed all the branches off close to the trunk so dogs would not hurt them selves and we left it for them to jump over. Zaria likes to run on it. She is very athletic.

During the Covid19 tragedy we are still able to care for dogs. We practice safe distancing and masks when interacting with the human dog partners. I have some clients who are using us for day boarding while they are engaged in fix up and painting projects at their homes. Call before coming of course. Our hours are more flexible because mostly we do not go anywhere right now.
The kennel phone is now a cell phone so you can text about boarding.
Plan to wear a mask please.

There are relatively few licensed dog boarding facilities in the greater Baltimore area. Be sure that the "kennel" you choose is licensed by the county. Many online "kennels" are unlicensed and in violation of county animal care ordinances. If the boarding is being done in someone's private home in Baltimore, Carroll or Harford Counties be sure to ask to see their kennel license or facilities permit. Licensed kennels are staffed by people with a lot of dog experience and set up so that the security of your dog is well managed.
For example your dog will not have the chance to run out the front door of the house when the neighbor's 8 year old child comes running into the house.

Winter is a slow time for kennels so we usually have space in the in door out door kennel runs. Dogs do not linger in crates but have their own space.
