UPDATE: The owners have came & picked up their dogs. They escaped the yard & decide to visit the neighbors.

These 3 dogs are down the river around the Red William Napier bridge. They were across the bridge earlier this morning. Does anyone know who they might belong to?

The shelter is closed today for Presidents Day. We will be open again on Tuesday Feb17th.

What do you do if you find an animal outside freezing or frozen to the ground? Here are some tips to help you help them.

1. Warm them up slowly & dry them off. They may have ice in their fur that will need to come out. It will be unknown how long they have been out in the weather & it will take time for them to adjust to the warmth.

2. Please, please do not give them anything to drink until they are warmed up. I know this is a hard one to do because we don't want them thirsty but allowing them to drink when they are still cold could cause more trouble later.

3. If the animal is injured a trip to the vet will be needed. If they are seriously injured wrap them up in a blanket & take on to the vet.

MISSING DOGS:

These 2 dogs are missing from the Dryhill area. They went missing last night & haven't returned this morning. They go by the names of Pluto-the smaller dog and Duke-the bigger dog. If you have seen them please contact Emily Trent on Facebook or the shelter.

They could have also went into Bull Creek or Hell for Certain,

Many of you have been contacting us about spay and neuter. Due to the craziness of January & February weather we will do our spay and neuter in March. The snow & ice are too unpredictable in these months & we don’t want to risk anyone or their pets suffering an injury. But we will do the spay & neuter just a little later in the year.

Dates for sign ups will be announced at a later date.
