Nussman Reptiles
Located in Annapolis, MD, Nussman Reptiles is a small boutique breeder specializing in exotic Ball Python and Boa Constrictor mutations. Like many others, I loved reptiles as a child and grew up catching and releasing snakes, lizards, and turtles. I got my first snake, a Corn Snake, in the late 1990s and progressed to Boas and Ball Pythons throughout the 2000s. My first year of successful breeding was in 2013 when I produced a healthy litter of Sunglow & Albino Boas. I was hooked from that point forward.
At about that time I was finishing up an engineering degree and going into graduate school for an MBA. I rented a two bedroom apartment and turned the second bedroom into my first fully dedicated snake room. All the while, I was researching and studying the field of genetics and how it relates to the breeding of Ball Pythons and Boa Constrictors.
At this point in time I try to maintain a small yet powerful collection through holdbacks and selective purchases. I believe the key to becoming a successful small-scale breeder is working within your limits to produce some crazy animals without overreaching.
