🚨 HURON, CA // URGENT RESCUE OR EXPERIENCED MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED 🚨

Look at this sweet boy’s face. He is currently sitting in a kennel at the City of Huron shelter with a painful, severe dislocated paw/leg injury. 💔

Despite being in obvious discomfort, he is remarkably gentle, sweet, and friendly with both people and other dogs. The vet has recommended immediate advanced treatment and recovery care that our small, understaffed& underfunded facility simply cannot provide on-site. He needs out of a concrete kennel and onto a soft bed with real medical oversight.

❤️ Rescued!

RESCUE / FOSTER / ADOPTER NEEDED – HURON ANIMAL CONTROL 🐾

Meet this sweet little guy who just arrived at the shelter and is looking for a fresh start!
Dog Details:
Breed: Terrier / Yorkie Mix
S*x: Male (Unaltered)
Weight: ~10 lbs

Temperament: Super sweet, affectionate, and very friendly with both people and other dogs!

Medical / Grooming Needs: He arrived with heavy matting that needs to be groomed out. He also has one small skin puncture/tear that appears consistent with severe mats pulling and ripping away from the skin.

He is ready for a rescue commitment, foster home, or loving adopter who can give him a much-needed groom, basic medical TLC, and the care he deserves.

🚨 EIGHT PUPPIES NEED HOMES & RESCUE PLACEMENT! 🚨
These 8 sweet pups came to us from a local encampment, and our top priority is making sure they don't grow up behind shelter bars. 🐶💔
The Details:
Age: ~10 weeks old
Breed: Shepherd / Pit mixes
Personality: Extremely friendly, outgoing, and loving!
Medical: Getting spayed/neutered this week and ready for their next chapter.
Mama Luna: Their wonderful mom, Luna (great with people and other dogs), is also looking for a home, but right now we urgently need to place these pups—even if it's one by one!
Whether you can Adopt, Foster, or Pull for Rescue, please reach out! Moving them individually or in pairs makes a massive difference in saving their lives and getting them into loving homes.

🎉 BIG WINS TODAY! 🎉
Huge thank you to Best Friends Animal Society - Los Angeles for taking 9 of our animals into their rescue to find forever homes:
Long-Term Residents: Thor, Freya, and Hercules (3+ months with us!)
Cats & Kittens: Miso, Yuzu, Saffron, and three newborn alleyway kittens who are now safe and sound.
While we're celebrating, the work continues—we still have 13 animals in our care needing rescue or adoption:

Meet Miso, Yuzu, and Saffron!
These three beautiful ginger boys are on the hunt for loving forever homes. They are sweet, bright-eyed, and full of affection. Very people friendly and cat friendly!

Neutering: We will get them neutered and ready to head home with you as quickly as possible!

Great news for five of our newest small pups! Today they all headed out to Valley Animal Center for a fresh start on their way to finding forever homes. 🚚🐾

A massive THANK YOU to their team for pulling these sweet dogs and giving them this opportunity❤️

While this is a huge win. We still have 16 dogs and 6 cats at the shelter desperately waiting for homes or rescue placement.

Richard, our Kennel Tech, and Officer Cobarrubias, our Animal Control Officer—hanging out with one of our happiest huskies, Frost!
Every single day, our small but mighty team works tirelessly to care for the animals of Huron. Because we are a low-staffed, underfunded shelter, we are doing everything we can to keep up with inquiries while making sure our dogs stay safe, clean, and loved.

We need our community’s help to keep things running smoothly! Here is how you can support our team and animals:
