Horses speak if you are willing to listen ❤️ Horses are actually really good communicators if you take the time to really learn body language of the horse. I spent most of my time growing up watching and observing horses in a herd, I use those observations in my handling and training to this day. They need to be taught boundaries with people no different than would be set in a herd. Horses can bond to each other and they can also bond to their people.

Girls got some evening hang outs and scratches and I spent the evening reflecting on my own journey thus far. 🥰

Finally got to finish up our ranch show today at the Ottawa County Horse Foundation!

Freya did amazing things for her first show and only third time hauled away from home!
1st in Ranch Horsemanship
2nd in Ranch Pleasure and Ranch Riding all W/T right now during seasoning!
More so I am so proud with how well she handled the environment! Loud speaker, papers blowing right at her at one point, people and kids all over! She handled it like a champ! She’s going to be one awesome mare, she already is!

Raven and Alli took home two fifths and a forth in their classes! Raven is learning that all patterns do not require her to be a speed racer 🤣 barrel horses man. She had a beautiful ranch riding pattern!

Another huge shout out to Ms Alli here, this was her first show with Raven. They have been putting in a lot of long hours and Raven is not an easy horse to ride! They took 5th in ranch confirmation out of a huge group of horses. They rode beautifully in the warm up pen and I know had we not got rained out they would have had beautiful classes! On to state fair try outs in two weeks!

Ms Freya here got to haul out to her first show ever! I cannot say enough good things about this mares brains! She’s a true joy to have in the barn! First show, first ever time riding around more than two other horses, first loud speaker, strollers, kids on bikes! She was a rockstar! We unfortunately got rained out before our classes but the experience is all worth it!

⚠️ With two new confirmed cases located in Lorain County I will be taking precautions and my barn will be closed to outside visitors who are around other horses until the end of the month. I will reevaluate at that time. Thank you for your understanding!

Added a new heifer calf to farm today and she visited in the horse barn for a minute while getting her pen ready. Everyone was super interested in her!
