King's Kelpie Cowdogs

King's Kelpie Cowdogs We raise and train Kelpie Cowdogs. We also take a limited number of outside dogs primarily for cattle work. The basic commands are STOP, HERE, and SEND.

Our goal is to breed a quality cowdog that cattle Industry demands, and a training program geared to fit producers both large and small. We would like to welcome you to our monthly gathering.

1st Tuesday Working Ranch Dog Night-
Our goal is to help people produce quality cow dogs that can effectively work and control all types of cattle in various conditions. When we expand on these three command

s we can teach our dog left, right, down, stand, and backup. We can send them to or away from stock. We can help you put the control on your dog that you need to affectively handle cattle while reducing stress on stock and yourself. The King Arena and Training Facility is located at 64 FM 2550 Huntsville Texas off of HWY 30 W. Practice topic to be announced weekly.

Working two dogs together here, one’s got too much go. The other has too much whoa. Maybe we should call them shake and bake. LOL
They can both be a challenge from time to time but I enjoy them and I know they will get the job done.

We are working a 6 month old pup here on basic recall and get up on place. The place can also benefit us when teaching stop or down.The word I use for place is up. It can be up on a round bale, back of my truck or the stock trailer. Just whatever’s around. The recall words are here and come, with her name is how I call her to me. Nothing special just starting  a pup’s formal education.

We know Cattle run off head first, that’s why we like a COWDOG or pup to go strong to the head. I want a cowdog that will stop cattle over and over again. I personally think that build confidence in a young cowdog.

6 months old, she has had no training. This is just who and what she is. Very nice to be around type on pup. I hope she makes a COWDOG. She will get opportunity this fall.
