Why Do We Need Your Pickup Date and Time?
Every now and then, someone gets a little frustrated when we ask for both a departure date and an estimated pickup time.
The reason is actually pretty simple.
A boarding kennel is a little like a hotel, a daycare, and an air traffic control tower all rolled into one. Dogs are constantly arriving, departing, rotating yards, changing runs, and sometimes moving into spaces that have just become available.
When a family tells us they’ll be picking up on a certain day, we reserve that space based on the information provided. If we don’t know when dogs are leaving, we can’t accurately determine whether we have room for dogs waiting to come in. In some cases, we may turn away reservations because we believe we’re full.
Think of it this way: if five dogs are leaving on Friday morning, that’s very different than five dogs leaving Sunday evening.
We’re not being nosy—we’re trying to make sure every dog has a comfortable place to stay and that we can accommodate as many families as possible.
So when we ask for an exit date and an estimated exit time, it’s not because we’re trying to make life difficult. It’s because somewhere in the kennel, another dog may be waiting for that spot.
And unlike airline seats, our guests occasionally bark at us if we overbook. 🐾
Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly and for understanding that good communication helps us take the best possible care of your dogs.
