When it gets hot, we have to adjust and keep in mind that dogs can’t cool themselves efficiently.

•Walk early or late and keep midday potty breaks short

•Check the pavement

•Watch for signs of overheating:

* Excessive panting
* Tongue hanging far out
* Bright red gums
* Slowing down
* Seeking shade
