Little Moments
Something I’ve come to learn when working with horses, is that the little moments get overlooked. Often times we get so focused on the end result, of making a good finished horse, of making sure all of the fancy buttons are there, making sure the horse checks all the boxes before they head home. But I think sometimes we need to stop and look at the little moments of training. Today I got to experience one of those little moments with this Mustang. A few years ago he was brought to me to get halter broke, he then went home for a few years and came back this past winter to get broke to ride. It was a little moment like today, where this horse went from untouchable, to riding head down, not a care in the world outside on a windy day. I guess the moral of the story is take note of the little moments, because those moments are what make the end result so much sweeter.
