If you’re a cat owner or know someone who has cats, be sure to never have lilies (Lily of the valley, Flame Lilly and Gloriosa) in the house hold. Here are some serious factors you should consider:

🐱all properties of the lilly plant can fatally harm cats. Mere pollen dust may cause kidney failure.

🐱symptoms to watch for are vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea, loss of appetite, decreased urinating, and drooling.

🐱within 12 hours symptoms begin to show , then kidney damage within 12-24 hours, and finally kidney failure within 72 hours.

🌞summer heat is going to be a long one! It’s necessary to walk our dogs daily, please proceed to do so! However, here are some things to watch for when you do so.🌞

☄️paw pads are skin, they are quick to injury under stressful environment such as a heated pavement, a trail with rocks and so forth.

☄️just like our good skincare practice to avoid sun burns during sunny hours, avoid walking your dogs during those hours as well.

☄️if you see that your dogs pads are blistered or discomforted, it’s best to have your vet tend to it before possible infections.

🌵Here are some Uptown Advice and Tips for double coated breed owners (husky, German Shepherd, chow chow etc)

It is essential to maintain the coat at home with de-shed rakes. Our recommendation for budget friendly and quality tool is the deShedding tool. It is important to select the correct deshed tool and not damage the fur with rakes that excessively cut fur versus remove dead coat.

🐺Now, more than ever, is the time to brush out your double coated pet regularly in order for them to stay cool and regulate their temperature.

🐺All too often we have had shave down requests for German shepherds, huskys, chow chows and so forth. After we decline shave down service, we try to educate double coat pet owners to consider deShedding their pet to maintain the coat at home for their benefit, their pets, and their pockets!

🐺DeShedding spa service is not a simple task, which is why most facilities give estimates based on coat type and condition of coat. However, if you’re maintaining your pets coat regularly there’s less work for your groomer and less costly for you.

🐺Believe it or not, regular brushing can keep your puppies coat beautiful, shiny, and color vibrant. That is because the natural oils spread from the skin to the top of each hair strand. A healthy skin and coat will further protect their skin from the sun!
