🐾💕 Two years ago today, my sweet Gabby girl began her retirement journey from Shih Tzu Lovins. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about her.

Some dogs leave pawprints on your heart forever, and Gabby was one of those once-in-a-lifetime girls. She brought so much love, personality, and joy into our home. Watching her move on to her next chapter was bittersweet, but knowing she was loved beyond measure made it easier.

I miss you more than words can express, Gabby girl. Forever one of my heart dogs. 🐶💕

Did you know the Shih Tzu is a brachycephalic breed? ☝🏻🤓

That means they have a “short head,” giving them that sweet, signature look we all love 🐶💕

Some common features include:
• Short, flat muzzle
• Large, expressive eyes
• Small nose
• Wide, rounded head
• Possible underbite
• Defined stop (forehead to muzzle transition)

💡 Because of this, grooming matters more than people realize.

Be sure your groomer does NOT douse their face in water—these babies can aspirate and have breathing issues even later on.

I personally never crate-dry. Each of my pups is dried individually on the table, with care, patience, and lots of love 💗
Imagine being locked in a cage with loud air blowing on you… not how I do things here.
