Today our Cachengo students had a lesson on playing the Parelli Natural Horsemanship “squeeze game”. The squeeze game is accomplished when you can ask a horse to go over, under, through, around, or etc. an obstacle without you. The trust in your partnership must be strong enough that they trust you to confidently go without you.

The challenge that I gave them was not only to send your horse up and over the BRAND NEW obstacle in the arena that they have never seen before until today, but to ask them to confidently stop on top . Any horse out of fear can run over it or jump over it, but can they confidently go up and stay? That’s a trust exercise.

I am so proud of these equestrians and their equine partners!

This week, I am excited to introduce a new “weekly challenge” for my team and their horses. Their goal is to master a new task each week to keep their partnership growing and excelling.

I am so proud (but not surprised) our first one to master the challenge this week is Raylene and Montana.

Challenge: 360° Hindquarter yield with front feet inside tire!!!

I, Krista, have signed up for a week long Parelli Freestyle Bootcamp with Mckensey Courtney 3 Star Parelli Professional.

Today’s challenges:
1. Play the squeeze game for your horse to come to you on the mounting block and mount your horse from both sides
2. 361° hindquarter yield to the left and right
3. 361° forequarter turns to the left and right.

We are rusty but with practice we hope to only get better.

We were excited to have some important visitors at the barn this week. Ash Young (CEO of Cachengo), Krishna and James (from New Jersey Transit), and Steve Winslow (our very own Photographer). We love sharing these amazing horses with everyone who comes in town! Statistically, horses can lower stress, increase endorphins, increase confidence, develop self-awareness, and so much more. We love sharing this amazing program with our people!
