Misty has been working for HVC since early 2024 and immediately fit right in with her positive energy, great sense of humor, and willingness to help wherever needed. When asked by her coworkers what they appreciated most about Misty, they answered, “She has so much compassion for animals and also the humans they bring with them.”

We hope she never tires of hearing, “Uh…hey Misty can you help me with…..?” because we know we couldn’t be as efficient or help as many pets without Misty’s willingness to always go the extra mile. You help us do our best, just by being you! 😊

Taylor has been an HVC team member since 2019 and is the one keeping all our ducks in a row. Taylor’s ‘behind the scenes’ work helps make it possible for HVC to treat all creatures, large and small. When a coworker was asked 3 words to describe Taylor as an HVC team member, they responded, “dependable, hard-working, and solves-problems-before-we-know-we-even-have-them.”

When in doubt, all HVC team members know to “just ask Taylor.” When I asked ChatGPT for help writing a blurb about our administrative professionals, it wrote back, “No idea. Ask Taylor.” 😆

🐾Meet Dr. Renee🐾
Dr. Renee graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine, and after working at another mixed animal clinic for her first five years in practice, she joined the Humboldt Veterinary Clinic team in 2018. She works with all animals but has a passion for small ruminants like sheep and goats. When working in the small animal part of the clinic, she enjoys tackling the challenges of dentistry and has a growing interest in small animal ultrasound as a diagnostic tool. Dr. Renee enjoys working closely with pet owners to solve problems and strengthen the bond between them and their animals, always taking the time to listen to concerns and ensure each pet receives the best possible care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Renee is a fair-weather enthusiast, and when the conditions are right, she enjoys spending time in nature with her husband Brody, daughter Violet, and their two dogs. When she's not outdoors, she can usually be found with a book in hand—her love for reading is as strong as her dedication to quality veterinary care.📘

Dr. Renee is in the chute today—but it’s not what you think! She’s performing an annual semen check on this handsome bull to help ensure a healthy, productive breeding season.

Semen evaluations are a vital part of herd management and help us catch any fertility issues before they impact calving rates.

Puppy Love Alert!

Meet Sadie — an absolutely adorable Australian Shepherd who stopped by for their very first check-up! With those fluffy paws and curious eyes, this pup had the whole clinic swooning.

Early visits like this help ensure a healthy start with vaccines, deworming, and lots of TLC. We can’t wait to watch this little one grow into a happy, healthy herding pro!😍

🐾 Meet Dr. Tracy🐾

Dr. Tracy has been a member of the HVC team since 2018 and has been declared the ‘messiest vet’ and the clinic’s ‘biggest pen thief’ by the techs. Her favorite places to be found at the clinic include the dental room and the microscope table but she also loves meeting new puppies and kitties and eating snacks in the breakroom.
Her all-time feel-good moment in veterinary medicine is when pet owners report back after dental work, “We had no idea she was painful or that her teeth were bothering her. She never stopped eating or acted in pain, but now she is a whole new dog! It’s like having a puppy again!”
Outside of the clinic, you can find Dr. Tracy drinking coffee, reading books, and napping in her minivan while waiting to pick up the kids from activities.
She asked us to add, “Although very grateful for my ISU vet education, I’ll ALWAYS have a Hawkeye heart [and continue to remind all my HVC Cyclone-loving coworkers any chance I get.”]

🐾Meet Dr. Aubrey! 🐾
Most of you have probably seen Dr. Aubrey around Humboldt Veterinary Clinic—she’s been part of the team since graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and became the clinic’s owner in 2017.
Dr. Aubrey works on all animals. She particularly enjoys performing surgeries, working cattle, equine power floats, chiropractic care and connecting with clients, but one of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is bringing new life into the world by assisting in both large and small animal deliveries.
She is President-Elect of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, AVCA-certified in animal chiropractic care, and actively involved in several veterinary and community organizations. Her dedication earned her the 2022 IVMA Rising Star Award and ISU CVM Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Aubrey stays busy with her husband, Kevin—who also manages the practice—their two kids, and a house full of animals, including their Goldendoodle, Charley; several cats; and five horses. You will also always find her cheering on the Humboldt Wildcats, Buena Vista Beavers, and Iowa State Cyclones! 💙💛❤️
🏀 Fun Fact: Dr. Aubrey played basketball at Buena Vista University, and when the HVC Large Animal Addition was built in 2020, she made sure it was tall enough for a basketball hoop in the garage!

Our sweet therapy dog, Sadie, spends her days bringing comfort and joy to others—but today, it was her turn for some TLC! 💕 She enjoyed a well-deserved chiropractic adjustment to keep her feeling her best.
