to one of those connections that stays with you. I met Craig from Fetch 02025 and we bonded over something we both cared deeply about: better nutrition for dogs and raising the standard of pet wellness.
We talked about doing a nail trim clinic, a way to support pets who may not need full grooming, but still need routine care. When I didn’t hear back, I reached out and learned that he had passed away.
I was stunned.
Grief is a strange thing. Sometimes it comes from someone you didn’t know for very long, but who still made a real impact. I grieved someone who cared deeply about pets, their health, and changing the industry for the better.
To honor Craig, I spent an afternoon trimming nails to give back in his memory, supporting Autism Speaks, and hearing stories from the community about who he was and how he touched so many lives.
I’m also so grateful that, through that connection, I now have a friendship with his sister and regularly groom her dog, Gilmore (pictured). Every time I see them, I’m reminded that Craig believed in my business early on, during one of the hardest times to be an entrepreneur, and that support meant more than he probably ever knew.
Thank you, Craig, the Montgomery family, Cohasset, and the South Shore. If you’re carrying grief of any kind, please know you are not alone.💚
