Okay peeps it is predicted to be over 100 degrees today and it has already been hot this summer. Watch out for the heat and your pets. I pulled a few ideas off of Pinterest and posted them here. Most commonly used by people here are kiddie pools but you need to refresh the water. They need fresh water to drink and the temperature of the water can get hot so add some cool to it periodically during the day and provide shade. Walk or exercise in the mornings when still cool. Asphalt gets hot enough to burn pads.

🐢 Slow down. Someone's crossing.

Late spring and early summer are some of the busiest times of year for turtles in Kansas. As they move between nesting and feeding areas, many find themselves crossing roads.

If you see a turtle crossing:
✔ Slow down when it's safe to do so
✔ Help it across in the direction it's already traveling
✔ Never relocate it to a new area

That turtle may have spent years—or even decades—surviving in the wild. A little patience can help ensure it continues its journey.

We would like to thank our community in general for being so animal oriented but special thanks to Mike and Jessica Hanson for donating towards the adoption fee for Bonnie and for some adoption fees for future dogs. Mike and Jessica are the pup Grandparents to the white puppy recently adopted from us by the Calvin & Cyleigh Unruh Family. A very animal aware and friendly family. Also a very special thank you to the anonymous individual who donated for the spay and neuter for our dogs Bonnie and Ziggy which guarantees that they and we don’t add to the pet over population problem. These individuals have made it much easier to get these two beautiful pups into good homes. Times are hard and they went above and beyond to help us help the pups. 🥰🐶❤️ We have had other adoptions but the individuals above had a hand in helping these dogs find Furever homes
