What a day!! A bit sad but on the other hand SO happy for Michelle!! And so happy and thankful for all the clients that stopped in to say goodbye. Also so thankful for the incredible staff we ended our journey with. (Lori, Brooke, Alicia and Kenzie)!! A special thanks to Michelle’s mom (Sue) for hanging out all day, bringing the treats & snapping these pics for us.

🐾💙 A Hero in Need of Our Support 💙🐾

Today, we ask our community to rally around one of our bravest — K9 Officer Jake who is currently battling cancer. Dr. Michelle has been caring for Jake from the beginning, look at that baby face.

For years, K9 Jake has served alongside our officers with unmatched loyalty, courage, and heart. From tracking down suspects to finding missing persons, he has been a vital part of keeping our community safe.

Now, it's our turn to be there for him, Jake was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have one so his back legs amputated. He is recovering with the same strength and determination that defined his service. His handler and family are doing everything they can, but they need our support — emotionally and, if possible, financially.

Let’s show K9 Jake the love and gratitude he deserves. Drop a comment with a kind word, share your stories or encounters with our four-legged hero, or consider contributing to Washington Co. K9s.

Good afternoon P.A.W.S Pet Hospital Clients!

As we are continuing our transition into partnering with Rice Creek Animal Hospital, we have been getting some questions regarding prescriptions. Please see below for more information.

Q: Can I still pick up my pet’s prescriptions? A: Prescription refills will only be available for pick up at P.A.W.S. until June 27th, so please plan accordingly. After that date, you’ll need to establish care with a Rice Creek DVM before any medications can be prescribed. This is to ensure a valid veterinarian-client patient relationship, as required by law.

Q. What will happen with my online (Covetrus) auto-ship orders? A: After the closure, all clients who wish to continue online prescriptions will need to be seen by a Rice Creek DVM first to establish a new veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

The good news! You’ll receive $50 off your pet’s first exam at Rice Creek Animal Hospital, making it a great time to meet their team and continue your pet’s care without interruption. Call (651) 483-6128 to schedule or visit their Online Pharmacy Store.

As of June 27th, I will be closing the doors to P.A.W.S. Pet Hospital as I step into retirement. This decision was not made lightly, and my foremost concern has always been how to ensure your pets’ continued care.

I’m pleased to share that I’ve been partnering closely with Rice Creek Animal Hospital in Lino Lakes to transition your pets’ care to a team I trust. Many familiar faces — including Dr. Heidi, Jill, and other former P.A.W.S. staff members — are already part of the Rice Creek team, conveniently located just minutes away. I have full confidence they will continue to provide the compassionate, high-quality care you and your pets deserve.

Keeping this news under wraps while finalizing details, especially over the past few weeks, has been incredibly difficult and emotional for my team and me. It has truly been my honor and privilege to serve as your veterinarian.

We are currently working with the Rice Creek team to make this transition as smooth as possible and will be planning some special events to celebrate this new chapter, including opportunities for you to meet and get to know the Rice Creek staff.

Please keep an eye on your email, text, Facebook, and mail for more information in the coming weeks. They will also offer an exclusive new client discount to P.A.W.S. clients of $50 off your first visit.

Due to staffing, we will be changing our hours of operation slightly.

Beginning the week of February 10, 2025, we will be closed on Wednesday's. This will allow our limited staff to continue providing the quality care that we pride ourselves in.
