🚨 Air Quality Alert 🚨
With smoke from the Canadian wildfires affecting our area, the air quality may be unhealthy for both people and our pets.
🐾 Here are a few ways to help keep your furry family members safe:
• Keep outdoor time short, especially for dogs who need walks.
• Avoid strenuous exercise like running or playing fetch outside.
• Keep windows and doors closed when possible.
• Make sure your pets have plenty of fresh water.
• Watch for signs of respiratory irritation, including coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, excessive panting, eye irritation, or unusual lethargy.
Pets with heart or lung disease, senior pets, puppies, kittens, and flat-faced breeds (such as Bulldogs, Pugs, and Persian cats) are especially sensitive to poor air quality.
If your pet is showing any signs of respiratory distress or you’re concerned about their health, please go to your nearest urgent care or emergency clinic.
Stay safe, stay indoors when you can, and give your pets some extra love today! ❤️🐶🐱
