When you walk around the corner of your house with ALL your dogs to find some of your sheep where they aren't supposed to be, you are suddenly thankful your dogs all have a good stop on them...

P.s. Dory the Cardigan not pictured because she was catching up from checking everyone else's crate for crumbs before joining the pack πŸ˜‚ but she also stopped when I asked her to. ❀️

A LOT of work goes on to manage the farm, so we have decided to share some moments to show you what goes on outside of training dogs!

One of our projects this week was to replace the plastic duck proof fencing in our duck arena (that is apparently VERY tasty to rabbits πŸ™„) with metal chicken wire.

We are thankful for a few "cooler" days this week to work on this!

Sorting sheep for herding class!

Kit is growing beyond the default fetch to handler and working on a drive to another target.

She is also getting some practice at winning arguments with cantankerous sheep. 😬

Anyone who has trained herding dogs for any length of time knows the stock OFTEN give you "bonus" challenges you weren't planning on when you made your training plan for that session 🀣

This team did a GREAT job navigating the small pen work we did in herding class this week!

Saga Marie and Wrangler are making a lot of progress together.

We are excited about this up and coming team!

Maisy Barton and Blaze have only been working together for a few sessions but their teamwork is growing.

On today's episode of "Herding with a 3 year old"

Isaac demonstrates amazing technique on the shed portion of the course: he and his dog working both sides of the stock together, stringing out the line, making a hole, stepping in and taking control of one set. πŸ‘ŒπŸ€£

Or....maybe he just interrupted my fetch...πŸ€ͺ

Have your training sheep gotten too fetchy to humans?

You just need a 3 year old and a balance bike πŸ€ͺ

Watch to the end if you want to hear his maniacal laughter 🀣

We had the opportunity to collaborate with another herding handler to work some of our dogs at their place.

It's always great getting your dogs in new places and on new stock and we are thankful for the chance to do it.

Boy, am I glad we put a new bale in before we went on vacation, so you guys could pick at the bale I thought was too weedy for you and ignore the new bale πŸ€”πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
