I hope this video shows why families have to go on the euth list. More than half of the available family kennels are full, and there’s no telling how many additional families will come through the door that day. Puppies this young are extremely susceptible to illness, making every day in a shelter environment worse on their immune systems. People care a lot less about dogs at no kill shelters, so by putting them on the euthanasia list, you either get them out alive into a home, or get them out in a trash bag. Regardless, it clears out space.

Support your local shelter, spay and neuter your pets, and adopt don’t shop!

12/22 Euthanasia List: A2049341 Sosa & Puppies, 2Y/2W, HW-
Such a gorgeous mama with ALL black puppies! She was eager to have me visit her and got up while nursing haha and so happy for pets and treats. I didn’t touch her puppies but she doesn’t have any negative staff notes and has been a really good girl. Her puppies are only 2 weeks old ☹️ They are all rescue only so cannot be adopted or fostered through the shelter.

I have the best update for your Friday!!

You might remember Izzy from the euthanasia list back in October. She had a severe injury where her front leg had been pulled away from her spinal cord. After a long discussion with the vet, it was in Izzy’s best interest for the leg to be amputated. She had absolutely zero sensation in the leg and they think she’d been living with her injury for a while ☹️ got her in for surgery immediately and Izzy recovered INCREDIBLY thanks to hard work from her foster . The video of her being carried out of surgery and her tail wagging away 🥺😭🤧

The best news - she is now ADOPTED and living the best life with her mom who’s actually a BARC volunteer and foster, ! Her new name is Marcy to go along with her big brother Myles, and she is excelling in her training every day.

When I posted the fundraiser with a goal of $3,000, my steepest goal ever, I thought there was no way on earth I’d raise that. But, like always, you guys came through and raised that in a matter of days. I can’t express how grateful I am that everyone loved this dog through their phone screen and banded together to make sure she got the care she needed. Have a wonderful life Marcy!

I took this video a few weeks ago when meeting euth list dogs and I think my heart melted into a slippery puddle on the floor. I’ve never seen such a cute puppy pile.

Shirley and her puppies went into foster care through the shelter. All of the puppies have been adopted, and the foster is having to return mom to the shelter this weekend where she’ll likely end up on the euthanasia list. She has rescue interest, just needs a Houston area foster! Please message me if you can help her get her happy ending

This family was originally on the euthanasia list for 12/15 but have been extended to tomorrow, 12/18. I can’t believe they’re still here!

Haya (A2048524, 4Y, HW+) & her 5 puppies are the sweetest little family and mom kinda looks like a beagle mix at just 33lbs and full of milk. She’s SO friendly and is nothing but hops and tail wags. She met another dog and was absolutely petrified. Her tail was tucked so tight and she gave a little low growl like “please don’t”, but it’s so hard to judge with the raging hormones. I really hope they can get out of the shelter alive.

They are rescue only and cannot be adopted or fostered through the shelter.

Please visit the links in my bio if you can adopt or foster! I cannot always monitor comments and messages. Fosters must be local and the shelter cannot hold for an adopter.

I only post the dogs that I meet and photograph personally. There are many other dogs at the shelter.

I can’t believe this is the only footage I got of this family, but I saw them last week and just wanted to capture the cute moment of them all huddled up together. This week, they’re on the euth list.

Haya (A2048524, 4Y, HW+) & her 5 puppies were on the euthanasia list for today, 12/15, but were extended to tomorrow 12/16. They are the sweetest little family and mom kinda looks like a beagle mix at just 33lbs and full of milk. She’s a very timid girl and walks with her tail tucked tightly between her legs, but no issues leashing or petting her. She’s just terrified. The puppies are only 5 weeks old ☹️ I really hope they can get out of the shelter alive.

They are rescue only and cannot be adopted or fostered through the shelter.

AHHHHHHH just my type of girl! Soooo submissive and tippy tappy and squinty eyed! If you saw the white baby that posted, this is his sister! She doesn’t even have a name yet 😭 She’s so wiggly and unsure of herself but knows deep down that humans are good! I know she wants to soak up aaaalllllll the love, she just needs someone to give her a chance. I love love love her. She has so much potential if given the right opportunity!

Sweet boy ☹️ such a good little puppy down on his luck and here all by himself. He’s very itchy and shaking his head a ton. He is positive for sarcops and his skin is bumpy and paws are inflamed. He’s gotta be pretty miserable yet still so sweet.

I. am. so. HAPPY!!!

Myles was adopted today! His adopter drove all the way from Austin and back to pay the $5 to make him hers. She wasn’t phased by having to come back to Houston for his neuter and heartworm treatment either. She even stopped by my house to grab some donations for him to get his skin back in tip top shape, including dinosaur pajamas. Thank you guys so much for these donations to get adopters and fosters started on the right foot!

Myles will go down in history as the first boy dog to be in my favorite dogs of all time - and that’s a feat! I am so thankful to everyone that shared, commented, posted, pledged, temp tested, & loved on Myles, whether it be in person or over the internet. I literally could not and would not do this without y’all. Here’s to you, my HW+, pajama wearing pittie!
