This was a HUGE happy story this week.
My expectations were very low for this first visit. Having met Sophie several times, just letting me hold her was the goal.
My DOGS ARE MY FAVORITE PEOPLE shirt was for good luck.
Much of life is scary to her. She has been in a great, patient home for over a year, still mistrustful/leery..you name it.
One of her fursibs is very protective as well, slightly muddling the environment.
Cheese is her favorite treat. Indicative of her stress but not a surprise, no cheese in front of me.

Her owner handed her to me instead of me picking her up and she did so well.(They both went back to their offices to see if she would be ok alone) Every nail was trimmed with only slight agitation. The fact that she let me stand up with her and walk her down the hall to see her folks was also a huge positive.

We purposely did this trim between grooming visits to see if she could get used to trims at home and to me.

The time it takes to read each dog is well worth it and usually establishes a good base of reaction knowledge.

I have known these folks for 25? years and it was wonderful for Sophie to do so well after all of their work with her.

PS she happily ate her cheese after she went back to Primary Human office:)

Most folks know I love the snappy rodent breeds, cuz they are really fun.

These two babies are at the FAR end of the spectrum, they are heart meltingly precious.

Dash only has one picture because he exited asap after his trim, stayed close by to watch over his buddy and for treats, but out of camera range.

Even Bolt's betrayal accusation looks are sweet.
I could have held him for a lot longer.

Bolt and Dash......guess what they did a lot right after being adopted?:)

The girls went to visit their humom at the place where I have a vintage booth...nail trims were the last things on their minds!

Sadly for dogs and cats, trimmers are always nearby. I keep sets in both trucks....

Three days before leaving for college:
Mom, I have this kitten...
Born July 1st
Parents are not surprised at this I know:)

Oliver hit the kitty lottery...
Has been to the vet twice already, with Mom of course.
Has attended several Zoom meetings, has been removed from one:)
Playing with my hair kept him busy for most of the session.

Not one dog or cat showed up today at the afternoon nails trim session on Dairy Ashford.
I was hoping there would be a need after no sessions all summer.
Not whining, just not feasible to waste half the day and a lot of gas.

I am committed to Nov 14th and Dec 12th

Copperfield in the morning
Dairy Ashford in the afternoon.
After that who knows?
No one is in business to lose money.
I'm obviously doing something wrong, just no clue what.
I will try to do regulars, who I very much appreciate, when 4-5 can come on the same Saturday.

Can you believe Hero is 14 years old? He looks great.
He is a new nail trim client here at Texas Litter Control. His owner held him AND dispensed the Egg Puffs, which he devoured!

Pepper is also a repeat client, thank you for that trust.
She was very gentle and patient with me, even though this was not her idea of a fun car ride.
Excellent holding was a major factor here also.

Consistency certainly pays off in nail trims..Teddy and Ruby are squirmy as many dogs are. Ruby has thunder phobia, this is similar. I can see improvement with every visit.

Great holding here helps a bunch. It is tough on the
human as both dogs are pretty good size.
I was especially proud of Teddy today. He is getting calmer; the lesser the stress, the easier it is for him.

Welcome to first time nail trim client's Astro and Aggie, girl littermates. They were a little unsure of me but very good.
They LOVED the Egg Puffs.
Seasonal cranberry flavored ones have just been ordered. They were a hit last year.
