What a beautiful little meatball!

This beauty goes by the name of Diamond!

Diamond is owned by a first-time dog owner who has done a pretty good job raising this girl! Now, she's here to learn some manners, develop better impulse control, and figure out how to calm herself down.

Diamond gets overly excited when she sees people. She wants to pull straight toward them and jump all over them, which can quickly become a problem if she doesn't learn how to control herself.

However, I quickly noticed there was something else going on beneath all that excitement: fear.

Sometimes, dogs use excitement and overly friendly behavior to overcompensate for the fear and uncertainty they're feeling. While that behavior may look harmless compared to aggression, it's important to recognize what's happening underneath the surface.

The problem is that when a dog is constantly overwhelmed, you never know when that dog might reach its breaking point and react in a way nobody expected. That's why we need to address the underlying emotions, not just the outward behavior.

The good news? Diamond is in the right place! We're going to work on building her confidence, improving her impulse control, teaching her how to regulate her excitement, and helping her make better decisions around people.

LOOK AT THIS HANDSOME FELLA!

Meet Arlo! This handsome guy is here to work through his fear of humans and learn how to navigate the world with more confidence, calmness, and trust.

His first day was definitely a challenge! Arlo spent much of his time disagreeing with me and any of my kids who happened to pass through the dog area. He was especially unhappy about being leashed and made it very clear that he wasn't a fan of the idea!

Today, though, we're seeing some progress! He's still very much on edge, and we have to respect the fact that he is currently a bite risk. However, we've managed to get some movement, make a little progress with handling, and begin working through some of those fears.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is confidence.

With dogs like Arlo, this isn't about rushing the process or forcing him to accept things before he's ready. It's about building trust, creating positive experiences, and helping him learn that he doesn't have to live in a constant state of fear or feel the need to defend himself against the world around him.
We've got work to do, but every little step forward matters. I'm looking forward to seeing this boy's progress as we continue helping him build confidence and learn a better way to navigate life!

What a beautiful day it was today !

Birdie and Poppie came out and worked around eachother and things went good. It looks better in these pics than it actually is at the moment.

Birdie is a very strong dog who struggles with anxiety and doesn't do the best at regulating her emotions.

Poppie is a major cutie and she don't want any trouble with anyone. She is super fearful and very weak which places her at the bottom . It also makes her an easy target and prey.

Today I worked with them both on just leaving eachother alone .

"Birdie, do not target Poppie !"

"Poppie , quit fleeing I got your back , relax."

We still have a long road ahead of us but I'd say we're of to good start here!

Oh-em- GEEEEEEEEE !!

ISNT SHE THE FREAKIN CUTEST ?!!

Say hello to Poppie my people!

This girl actually lives with the St. Bernard Birdie who is also in for training.

Poppies is around 7 or 8 months old so she is all over the place with a handful of issues herself. These two girls have two completely different personalities and Birdie big time disapproves. She recently attacked Poppie and wasn't nice at all about it. Luckily there was no serious injuries and the two of them are here trying to get it together.

The goal is to get control of both of their personal issues and male a pack out of the two. Let's see what becomes of this duo in the weeks to come .

GREAT DAY YESTERDAY WITH BIRDIE & BRUNO!

Yesterday, we took both Birdie and Bruno down the street for their training sessions, where we encountered some men doing yard work with some pretty loud machinery. For two dogs who struggle with fear and anxiety, this was a BIG challenge!

These kinds of real-world experiences are exactly where we get to put in the work. Both dogs were pushed to their limits, but they handled the situation well. Little by little, they began to settle down, process what was happening around them, and realize that they were safe. Once they were able to think through the situation, we could reward them for making good decisions and help them build positive associations with an environment that once felt overwhelming.

I couldn't be prouder of these two! Watching them work through their fears, gain confidence, and learn how to navigate the world around them is what this is all about. Progress doesn't always happen overnight, but every little victory matters, and these two are working hard for theirs!

Birdie is doing good learning to slow down and take things easy . She knows I'm here but it's still too nervous to give me eye contact while outside. She does give a little here and there and it will get better as time goes by. For now we will continue improving her impulse control , trying to boost her confidence and improve on her handler relevancy . Good job Birdie , keep it up girl

FROM FEARFUL TO FULL OF LIFE — LOOK AT TUVE!

When Tuve first came to me, he was a very fearful little guy. The world around him was overwhelming, new experiences made him uncomfortable, and his confidence was something we knew we needed to build. He wanted to explore, learn, and experience life, but his fears were holding him back.
So, we got to work!
Through patience, consistency, trust, and structured training, Tuve began to change. Little by little, he started opening up, becoming more comfortable in his surroundings, and learning that he didn't have to be afraid of everything around him. We watched his confidence grow, his personality shine, and his willingness to engage with the world around him blossom.
And let me tell you, watching that transformation has been an absolute pleasure!
When it was time for Tuve to go home, he wasn't the same fearful dog who first walked through my doors. He was more confident, more comfortable, and better equipped to navigate the world around him. And the best part? His owners couldn't be happier with the dog they brought home!

MEET THIS BIG, BEAUTIFUL GIRL!

This gorgeous female Saint Bernard is here to work through some behavioral challenges that we want to address before they become more serious.

The biggest concern right now is her aggression toward the newer puppy in the household, who is around seven to eight months old. However, as I'm getting to know this big girl, I'm seeing that there's more going on beneath the surface. She appears to be struggling with fear, which is contributing to her reactivity toward the other dog in the home and, as I've also observed, toward unfamiliar people.

When we're dealing with behavioral issues like these, it's important to look beyond the behavior itself and start understanding what's driving it. Fear, stress, insecurity, and difficulty coping with certain situations can all play a role in how a dog responds to the world around them.

Our goal is to address these issues now, before they escalate into a bite or someone gets hurt. We'll be working on building confidence, improving emotional regulation, teaching healthier responses to triggers, and helping her learn that she doesn't have to react aggressively when she feels uncomfortable or threatened.

With a dog this big and powerful, responsible management and a thoughtful training plan are especially important. We'll take things one step at a time, work at a pace she can handle, and focus on building the foundation she needs to make better choices.
