Dogs sniffing each other’s butts might look funny to us, but to them it’s totally normal—and super important! With a sense of smell up to 100,000 times stronger than ours, dogs can pick up tons of information through scent. They even have a special tool for it called the Jacobson’s organ, which helps them read the chemical signals coming from another dog’s a**l glands. In just one sniff, they can learn things like age, gender, health, mood, and even what the other pup had for lunch. Basically, it’s their version of a handshake, small talk, and reading a whole biography all at once!

Nina is an extra-large beauty with an even bigger heart, and she’s captured all of ours with her calm, affectionate nature. Volunteers adore her sweet, go-with-the-flow attitude—especially after foot surgery, where she patiently endured countless bandage changes (with a few kisses thrown in). Her journey hasn’t been easy: adopted as a puppy in Atlanta and loved by families who praised her gentle spirit and love for kids, she still somehow ended up abandoned in a small kennel on the side of a Texas road. Despite it all, Nina’s resilience shines through—she loves water, craves connection, and is ready for a stable, loving home with experienced dog people who can give her the security she deserves. After everything, this special girl is ready to write her happy ending—maybe with you. 🐾❤️

Sweet Liam is back with us through no fault of his own. 💔 His loving family had to make the decision to bring him back after discovering a family member’s allergy. Though he’s confused by the change, Liam’s happy, affectionate nature still shines through; he’s a playful pup who adores people, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has a heart full of love to give. He knows his forever home is out there—let’s help him find the family and the love he truly deserves. 🐾❤️
