Doberman enthusiasm, love it 😂

Part of training is building confidence.

Remi has great recovery, and that’s important. You can’t control the environment, there are going to be spooky things that startle your dog.

The important part is that it doesn’t completely derail them, or have a lasting effect. Building confidence to recover from scary situations is so important, and particularly crucial to start at a very young age.

Dogs have to learn how to work through things, problem solve, and overcome.

Remi was so fun to work with, such a firecracker 💥

Wild man Cash fighting a losing battle to stay awake during his go-home lesson 😂

Cash is normally bouncing off the walls hyper, and a bit of a problem child for his family and 4-legged sister. But during his go-home lesson he was calm, relaxed, and falling asleep after 20 minutes.

We always preach that while exercise is important, mental stimulation is what will make your pup tired and happy.

If you’re going on walks for miles a day you’re not tiring your dog out, you’re just building a marathon runner.

But 10-15 minutes of making your dog use his noodle, and he’ll be exhausted and mentally fulfilled.

Which leads to a calmer, better mannered, happier dog overall.

🧠💪Mental stimulation for the win, every time.

Even the high drive sport dog that’s trained to bite people can go out in public without embarrassing me…

Why can’t the average doodle do the same?! 😂

Obedience is important, but will only take you so far. We need to train the proper mindset.

Calm, impulse control, learning to settle, neutrality…

There’s so much more to dog training than sit, stay, come.

And the difference is life changing.

My favorite day… puppy pick up from

Anytime I get asked for a recommendation for a perfect family pet… English Lab

Perfect active companion… English Lab

Perfect couch potato pet… English Lab

Weekend hunting buddy…. English Lab

Dog to take on family vacations and outings…
…let me think…
Have you considered an English Lab?

Unless you’re getting a dog specifically for a purpose, in which case you still want to research breeds, research breeders, and buy a purposefully produced puppy…
a well bred English Lab is hands down the best temperament for a well rounded, versatile, low maintenance companion.

Genetics matter, the breed matters, the parents matter, the breeder matters.

are 💯 the gold standard.

The beginning of another long summer in Texas… 90 degrees in the shade and the German Shepherds are snowing.

Prince is with us in Houston for a quick boarding stay before starting his training program, so he’s getting a relaxing spa day and molting enough we could make 3 more dogs 😂

When you send your dog for training or boarding, it should be nose to tail care.

💥Yes, we also offer boarding!

Grooming and handling is not only an important part of the training process, but it also gives us the opportunity to look over and put hands on every dog every day, so we notice any abnormalities or temperament changes immediately.

🚩Actually caring for the dogs should be an important part of every training or boarding kennel. Unfortunately that’s not always the case these days. Make sure you know who’s taking care of your dog before you leave them anywhere.

The most underrated dog training skill? Neutrality. 🐾

Multiple dogs. No chaos. No fixation. No desperate need to interact.

Just calm behavior, clear minds, and the ability to exist around other dogs without losing focus.

That’s the kind of training that creates dogs you can actually take anywhere.

Socialization is widely misunderstood. Less interactions, more advocating for your dog and trust building, more calm indifference.

Neutrality is the skill of a dog being able to exist calmly around other dogs, people, and environments without needing to engage. No pulling, no lunging, no overexcitement—just confidence and focus.

That’s what real socialization looks like.

Dog parks and daycare often teach the opposite. They create overstimulation, impulsive play, and dependency on other dogs for excitement—which leads to frustration, reactivity, and poor manners outside those settings.

Good socialization isn’t about more interaction.
It’s about better behavior around distractions.
